An agnostic/atheist princess whose soulmate is the god who killed her mother, and is potentially punished, or again BLESSED, with eternal love for him.

They both could fall for the person they should hate/not be with or can’t be with , and yet they’re what the other needs to heal.

As if chaac and bast said, “if you want love, it’ll be fiery and passionate, but INCREDIBLY difficult and painful. Almost unbearable, both while you’re together and apart. If you work for it, you will feel eternal bliss.”

ON TOP OF THAT, her being associated with the SUN. The sun being the hand gesture of Namor’s people, Namor literally and figuratively saying, “I brought the sun to my people.” You can’t just have her rip off Namor’s wings like the sun melted Icarus’s and then burn/melt him with fire.

YOU CANT JUST DO THAT AND SAY STOP SHIPPING THEM.

The writers guild podcast telling us that we had a glimpse of how close namor and shuri could have been before Ramonda’s death. Meaning that we were supposed to pick up the implicit/romantic undertones.

And then in the wakanda forever podcast sharing that Namor was going to kidnap shuri in the T’challa script. Telling me that him bonding with shuri was always an important element and that the hades and Persephone vibes were always there. Especially knowing that two black panthers were going to come out of this film, so shuri recreating the herb and consuming the bracelet (pomegranate) could have very well been a part of the original script.

Or even just Shuri as a pet cat and Namor as a pet feathered serpent. Like they accidentally transform into small versions of their animals for a short time. Then observe and learn so much about the other while being taken care of. (Ya know those cliche stories, but idk, it’s cute and refreshing when I think about it with them).
