Thus marked the beginning of South Korean Drama Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo. For some, a poor foil for widely acclaimed drama Moonlight Drawn by Clouds and a messy excuse for a sageuk. For many, a drama they can never forget.
It is for those who fall under the latter category that @krysyuy and I humbly propose #SHRMonth. Not a commitment, not an obligation, but a month dedicated to remembering what is, for some of us, our most beloved drama. A month to celebrate the two years that we still haven’t gotten over fourth prince Wang So. A month to love and appreciate Scarlet Heart Ryeo.
Each week of September shall provide a theme for you to explore, to expand, to create. We admit, in the concept of these themes, bias to the So/Soo ship, but all shippers are welcome, as are the celebration of different characters, relationships and concepts, all under the banner of peace. Do not ground yourself too tightly to these themes, but rather, take it into your hands and fly with it. Our aim is to live in this universe again, in whatever way we please.
Without further ado, the proposed themes are:
Wang So, the prince nobody knew, slowly grew in the hearts that inhabited the palace -- whether it be in hate or in love. A theme to explore the connection between characters, and how their relationships grow and entangle.
Like the peony that was a symbol of their love, a theme to explore the beauty of Goryeo, of characters, of love, or even of imagined destinies (future/alternate universes).
What starts with an eclipse, ends with an eclipse, sealing their fate forever. A theme for parallels within the series, for actions and reactions, or beyond the realms of Goryeo (crossovers).
Theirs was a story of love that transcended time. Did Go Ha Jin travel in time to create Gwangjong or was she tied to the hands of fate? A theme for shippers, for lovers, for conspirators of Time. With the power to change the past or the future, what would you do? Nothing, anything, or everything?
At any given time - Free Theme
Write. Draw. Create. Dream, in any way you want.
Tag your posts under the #SHRMonth tag and share your earnest creations with all! We cannot wait to see the results of this reunion - and may we all miss SHR a little less by the end of the month.
Thank you all in advance for participating, and have a good September ♡
