Well. Fuck. 🥲
I don't understand why some people insist that Alastor isn't controlling.
You're welcome to your own interpretation of his character, but I just can't square this claim with what I've seen on screen. Does he want a massive army of loyal devotees like Vox? No! However, he absolutely has his own agenda, and he is not above manipulating people to achieve his goals of freedom, power, and independence. That's controlling behavior, my friends.
He wants control over his environment and situation, as do most people, but what sets him apart from most is that he is willing to trick people into doing what he wants them to do. He's not using physical force in most cases that we've seen, and controlling other people isn't necessarily the goal in and of itself, but he's definitely pulling strings behind the curtain, and intentionally so. Remember his little aside at the end of season 1?
Off the top of my head, we've seen him manipulate Charlie and Vox, and even though his initial attempt to manipulate Rosie failed, he still found a way to go behind her back and welch out of their deal.
I feel the need to once again assert that Alastor is not a good person. He is a serial murderer. And I know it sounds crazy to say, especially since many of us are convinced that his victims had it coming to them, but y'all... murder 100% indicates a lack of respect for other people's bodily autonomy. You are doing something to their body without their consent. We don't often think about it that way because we're more concerned with the fact that the victim is, ya know, DEAD, but their boundaries were absolutely crossed. The perpetrator took it upon themselves to decide that the victim's life should end. That is the ultimate controlling behavior: exercising power over whether people live or die.
We can love this character and still be honest about who he is and what he's like. We don't have to justify his actions and motivations.
Again, it's fine if you see it differently, I'm not trying to come for you, but I wanted to explain my view.
Did I really just read "here are my head canons, please don't steal"?
Girliepop, are you not trying to spread that shit like a virus??
Fandom spaces are different these days, Lord 😮💨
This is the first m/m ship I've ever truly become obsessed with while participating in the fandom, so I'm genuinely surprised that it actually hurts my feelings a bit to hear people disparage my preferred dynamic 🥲
I'm an adult, I have a spouse and a job and a mortgage, but when I hear people say there's no way Alastor would top, I feel... misunderstood, somehow. Like why don't they see my vision?? 🥲🥲🥲
Can they not appreciate an asexual king who finds satisfaction in making the TV man fall apart? Who otherwise finds sex boring or unpleasant but enjoys the reactions that his ministrations produce? Who never felt the need for a physical relationship, but likes feeling important, wanted and needed by the only other person who can match his freak?
It's like a drug to me, and I'm legit sad that most fans find it not only unbelievable and unenjoyable, but downright laughable.

Me making the case for Top!Alastor:
Radiostatic nation, let's keep in mind that both of these men are evil serial killers. Part of the appeal is that they're toxic and horrible, like. We don't need to make one party out to be the victim, you know? They torture each other and it's beautiful 💔
insane things happening in radiostatic nation. first the trading cards, now brandon and bbno$ cosplay. we keep winning and for what?
Truly our cup of blessings runneth over 🙂↕️
Would it be so delulu to interpret these events as a sign? Would it be foolishly hubristic to hope to see our wildest dreams realized?
May our sanity persevere through this hiatus.
