Me and my best friend’s business Instagram Page “Certified Band Geeks” was disabled last week. What’s Certified Band Geeks you ask? Certified Band Geeks is a Business Page that promotes HBCU Marching Bands including local Historically Black Colleges and Universities such as Morgan State University, Bowie State University, Howard University, and University of Maryland Eastern Shore Marching Band programs as well as local High School Marching Bands such as Eastern High School, Largo High School, Ballou Senior High School and many more. We also post High School Marching Bands throughout the country. Our goal for #CertifiedBandGeeks is to bridge the gap between College and High School Students and let High School Students know what colleges and universities are out there, what scholarships is out there for them, Music Auditions, etc. while helping Colleges and Universities with recruitment for not only the college themselves but for the Band Program. Our Instagram has been disabled because of content misuse and miscommunication with a known Videographer on YouTube. We have reached out to said Videographer on Instagram and never received a message back. We posted the clips and ALWAYS gave full credit to the person who recorded the videos, including this Videographer who flagged our account. We have tried contacting Instagram using several avenues (Telephone, Email, Help Support on the App) and it has been no help. We are even planning to make a trip to New York to visit Instagram Headquarters to try to resolve the problem. Please help us. We just want our page back. We want to spread the word! We have a petition for anyone who would like to support! Black Owned AND Women Owned! Please sign the petition and reblog!
