โฆit would be naive to expect that the social evils endemic to Forty-second Street can be cleared away by the wreckerโs ball of urban removal. They can only be chased away โ to other neighbourhoods not yet blighted.

Show World Center - The Deuce NYC
Founded by Richard Basciano, a Philadelphia-born businessman who built a small empire in New Yorkโs adult entertainment industry, Show World Center opened on the corner of 8th Avenue and 42nd Street in 1975. Basciano owned multiple properties in the Times Square area and was considered one of the most powerful figures in the old Deuce economy. Show World was his flagship. It was a massive multi-floor complex offering peep shows, live acts, adult films, and merchandise. It sat right on the corner โ no back alley, no pretense. The signage was loud and the foot traffic was constant. It ran until the cityโs 1990s cleanup pushed it out along with most everything else that made the old Times Square what it was.โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ
