This is probably not going to happen, because Liam says he’s not interested in writing songs for the new Oasis album, he’s happy to cede that ground to Noel entirely, but I bet this reunion tour has been such an emotional time for him too, I bet he could well be writing, as he’s always done, just for himself. And while Liam may insist his songs are going nowhere near an album because NOEL is the songwriter in OASIS, to quote no less than 3 tweets of his, if Noel insisted he put his songs on the album, then who knows. We could have a Noel and Liam-written Oasis album, the first since Standing On The Shoulder of Giants. Because I really doubt either Gem or Andy will be writing songs for a new Oasis album, not after the reunion has very clearly been branded the Noel And Liam Show And Some Backing Band Members; It Really Doesn’t Matter Who Because Noel And Liam Are Back And Noel And Liam ARE Oasis. And I don’t think Noel is running out of material this time to need them to write whole songs to fill an album I think!
So. If we do by some miracle end up with Liam songs on a new Oasis album.
I bet you there will be some song Liam has written that he’ll say in interviews is about his dog. And it will be Little James level of obvious. And it’ll be the worst song ever written and we’ll all find ways of going no no I guess it has a certain charm… in its uh, simplicity.
The rest will be about Noel. And interviewers will be like ‘Liam this has obviously been a lot in the last year, has it affected your songwriting? Seeing the love from all these crowds?’ And he’ll go, ‘… uh nah man, it’s the same as it was before. All love. He’s back by my side, Oasis are back, and the music’s back man, same as it ever was. It’s all about love, always was.’
Liam will get 2 or 3 songs on the album, one will be atrocious, the other okay and the third will be so devastating it’ll be called the greatest Oasis song in 30 years and Noel will praise it to the heavens, while Liam will get all nervous because he wants Noel to enjoy the spotlight as the Oasis songwriter again and will try to wiggle out of playing it live, but Noel will go out in interviews saying, “he’s still an utter nutter; I said to him, why the fuck would we not want to perform the best song on the album? He’s a great songwriter, I’ve said for years that he doesn’t need that army of fucking industry clueless fuckin idiots writing drivel for him, he’s a great songwriter by himself, always has been, and the day he believes it, I’m going to fucking retire and never lift a finger again.” And everyone on here will be like omg that’s the highest compliment, Noel is so in loveeee and Liam will explode. And then we go into 2027 👍
