The sun shone bright and pristine nestled between the chunky white clouds which were scattered across the sky. It was a beautiful afternoon in early September, the summer heat had not yet worn off. A girl with gold hair rounded the corner and walked briskly toward the cluster of stores. Up ahead was a crowd of high school students about her age. She quickly walked towards them, hoping to get lost in the crowd.
A few paces behind, another girl rounded the corner, gliding after the first like a predator, a fanatic glint in her eye. This girl was not as well-kept as the first. Dark and dirty clothes hinted at a life lived without stability. However, she did not walk with the weight of a hard life. She approached with conviction, and she held her head high like a queen. Fear was something that happened to other people.
The blonde girl ducked into crowd after crowd and finally into a nearby McDonalds with many backwards glances. Her furrowed brow relaxed. She had not seen anyone behind her for the past ten minutes. She appoached the cash register. A boy walked up from the kitchen, adjusting his hat and tying his apron which he had just put on. He smiled at her and asked if he could take her order.
A few minutes later she sat down in a booth with her soft drink. She looked around the restaurant.
"Oh good, you found him."
The girl choked and spilled her drink.
She glared up at the messy young lady hovering at her table. "I didn't find anyone." she spat. "Stop following me!"
The bedraggled girl responded by sitting down and grinning, clasping her hands together in a bussiness-like manner on the table in front of her.
"Now we just have to convince him of who he is." She said.
"NO." Said the blonde. "WE DON'T." The other stood up. "Shivver." said the blonde as the street girl started to walk away from her table. "Leave him alone." she said with desperate aggravation as Shivver sailed away towards the counter. The blonde girl was not used to being ignored. She got up and followed her. "Hey! How do you think he'll react?! He wont beleive you, I can tell you that much! " This was met with no response. "you don't just walk up to random people and harass them!" Shivver did not reply. The blonde grabbed her arm and hissed "Shivver! LISTEN TO ME."
