Also I've been playing new day recently since it got an update and its great to see all the improvements. Also selling bugs is the best thing in the entire game. You're telling me I got two thousand dollars from selling goofy ass bugs to a weird goth girl who is also god? That's awesome

He seems especially receptive to Takumi, in ways Takumi is like his ideal, the kind of guy he feels he might’ve been able to become if he were normal and able to live a normal life like everyone else. There’s definitely a sense of envy and longing underneath for him. However, his attachment and love towards him for being the first person in his life who actually treated him as a person, an individual, someone who is deserving of life and freedom. It’s because of this that he struggles to voice any of his negative thoughts and desires around him. In most Second scenario routes, he’s only an observer. He desires to join in with the rest but worries he won’t be accepted for who he is. Despite being the only human-birthed human there, along with Nozomi, he’s often treaten as a monster, a test subject. His dynamic with Tsubasa in the routes where he actually involves himself with the cast is comforting as she doesn’t label him, assume the worst of him, she just calmly listens and wants to help him belong, it’s a feeling he’s never had before. He doesn’t know how to process it. He has so much pain, trauma, desires, but they’re all so buried deep down because he’s conditioned himself into believing he doesn’t want anything, that he doesn’t deserve what others have. It’s heartbreaking because at the end of the day he’s exactly like the others. Shion is simply a teenage boy who was never allowed to be one. His suffering is such a core part of the narrative, and it hurts how even the narrative and Takumi’s limited understanding of everything around him that feed into Shion’s beliefs.
