Shiver pt.1

It wasn't too cold out but their breath left their mouths in soft white clouds. They huddled together to keep warm but it wasn't that cold. She just did it to be closer to him, to feel his heart beat against her ear and to smell his deer and cheap cologne stink she grew to love. Love. It's a foreign word but it feels so natural saying it for this man. It's been this way since they first met. Of course saying that out loud would give him satisfaction and she hates seeing that smug look on the face she loves so much. So it's a quiet whisper in the back of her mind she likes to pet every night as a reminder of how this was always meant to be. They were destined to be together.

"You cold? I'm sure that tea isn't doing anything any more. Wanna head on back?"

"I'm fine. Toasty warm." A light flutter in the pit of her stomach. "Fetus is too."

"Ha you gotta stop calling it that."

"That's the name until Fetus is born. I don't feel right calling it it."

A kiss on the top of her head. "Whatever you say. I don't care so long as what ever it is comes out healthy. And not a girl."

A playful slap and a chuckle. They sit there until the wind picks up.
