Top row: Day one, been up all night, first time wearing everything together, not feeling very confident before con, convinced that you have waaaaay more blemishes than you actually do in your handmade costume, and being worried that people are gonna hate you for destroying a cool character with even more fat belly midriff exposure.
Bottom Row: Day 3, got some sleep, people have liked the cosplay, you were second choice for a judge’s choice, and was too tired to change at home out of costume so you walk into denny’s like on the right with 0 fear and dare the soulless server to say shit about how “indecent” you may look showing off your midriff.
What a difference just a few days [and sleep!] can make!
ShineCon was such a good experience for me, truly memorable and fun and helped me connect with [some of] the locals in the community, and help bring a bit more body positivity into the world. I don’t know how many people it helped, but I sure hope it did! Heck, I might just wear this to the free Halestorm concert next Friday, just without the wig. (I’ll have to see if I’ll be able to go with someone and if I can convince them that it’ll be fun to go as Qrow and Yang hahaha, i’m a terrible cosplay influence, but it’s not like the strip ISN’T filled with weirdos in costume already)
