11:00 am

Oz and Miki were the second to show up. Miki came with some family heirloom decorations and sent them up for Makoto. She kissed her son in law’s cheek, hugged her son tightly, and happily embraced Emma. They proceeded to catch up while Miki joined them, cooking. Oz joined Laurent on the couch, chuckling for it seems both husbands had been banned from the kitchen.

1:00 pm

Abby showed up, she had brought a pecan pie from a bakery. Makoto ran up to give her a hug, but got caught in a headlock instead. Abby smirked as she ruffled his hair, Makoto screaming to not ruin his hair. She let him go laughing and went to put the pie in the kitchen. Miki and Emma hugged her and asked her about her parents. Abby made some small talk, and then step outside to FaceTime her parents to wish them a happy Christmas. She missed them dearly, promising by next Christmas they would all be together again.

2:00 pm

Dorothy, Shi-won, and Kudo happily graced everyone with their presence. Dorothy came bearing many gifts. She gave Laurent a brief hug and then proceeded to squeeze the life out of Makoto. Kudo gave Laurent a firm handshake, and jokingly asked that if he wasn’t taking good care of Makoto, and he would have to clock him. Laurent just laughed and led Shi-won and Kudo to Oz, who was currently being scolded by his wife for taking a work call on Christmas.

3:00 pm

Cythina, Thomas, and Cohen, were the last ones to arrive. They were on vacation in Japan for winter holiday, and had spent the beginning of the day sightseeing before finally coming over. Cythina rushed to the kitchen to help with last minute things. Cohen gave Makoto and Abby a fist bump, and told them about what he was planning to go for college. Laurent dragged Thomas to the living area and offered him a beer. The two of them caught up, exchanging stories how their partner can be a hothead but adorable when they do.

5:00 pm

Everyone sat down to eat. The food of course was amazing. Laurent looked around the table and smiled. Seeing his mother happily chat with Oz and Miki, Kudo and Shi-won clicking beer glasses together, Dorothy and Cythina were already on a second bottle of wine, Abby convincing Makoto to drink a little cause it’s Christmas and it’s not like he has to drive home, Thomas looking proudly at a sketch Cohen had drawn of the places they’ve seen. Laurent took a sip of his beer smiling, enjoying the warm atmosphere of his family and friends gathered under one roof.

8:00 pm

Everyone sat in the living room, eating cookies or cake while they exchanged gifts. Emma was ready to retired and bid her farewells to everyone. Not soon after, Miki and Oz left as well. Dorothy and Shi Won did an Irish goodbye 30 minutes after. Abby called a cab and headed back to her place. Kudo headed out saying he was going to visit his daughter, Laurent called a cab for Cythina and her family, after it was deemed Thomas was not going to be able to handle a drunk Cythina on a 15 minute walk back to their hotel. Makoto immediately started to clean once everyone left. Laurent tried to convince him to leave it till tomorrow, but was smacked by a cleaning rag and told to go wipe the counter tops.

11:00 pm

They had finally finished cleaning. Makoto smiling happily at a clean house. Laurent had started to get cranky, he was sleepy and forced to clean at night. He grumbled and went to take a shower first, Makoto let him and waited his turn. After the two had showered, Makoto crawled into bed with his husband and curled up to his side. Laurent held his soybean close kissing his head.

“Merry Christmas my love” Makoto kissed his cheek.

“Merry Christmas my sweet prince” Laurent kissed his head and turned off the lights.

“Next year we are so doing Christmas at Dorothy’s place instead” Makoto said
