It means when you try to do something in your benefit but it backfires. For example:

I went to the exam revision hoping the professor would raise my grade, but he realised he had counted as right an answer that was wrong. I went to get wool and came back shorn.

what does this mean? basically i had my "omg i like girls" moment at 17, but there are characters from my childhood and think "how wasnt this my awakening" and i have decides to make a list of these characters.

this is basically my verison of a childhood crushes list because i didnt have any crushes until i started transitioning and i cant confirm the link but im like 90% sure thats why.

all a character needs to qualify is that i need to have seen them pre awakening.

if it seems like i have a type tell me because im not aware that i do so please tell me

i also may comeback to this cause there are doubtless many characters that i forgot about
