as the biggest rpdr fan i follow, are there any seasons you would recommend to someone who's never watched any before? I really want to start watching but i'm not sure which season to start with since the first season of reality shows usually aren't great :))
OOOHHH okay, seasons 4, 5, and 6 are regarded as the golden age of the show, and for good reason. It's peak reality tv trash with amazing drag and really heartfelt moments. But those seasons came out in the early 2010s, so it hasn't aged all that well regarding tr4nsphobia and f4tphobia. (Roopul didn't allow openly trans contestants on the show until like season 13, tho past contestants who transitioned were allowed on all stars before that)
So if you're looking for a tamer season to start with, season 8 and 9 is a pretty good introduction. I started watching right before All Stars 3 aired, tho All Stars 2 was the first season I watched in full. I was able to enjoy it a lot without having seen the previous seasons yet. Season 12 is another great season (despite the disqualified contestant).
Regarding international seasons, drag race UK seasons 1 and 2 are very good!!! You don't need to have seen the US version to get into it. The Thailand and Philippines international seasons are also great, as are the first two seasons of the España series.
Sorry I don't have a definite answer, but any of the above seasons are good places to start!
