Wanted to make a Shattershield post with this text post and was reminded that this scene felt very "divorced dad trying to reconnect with his son"
Video Description and Transcript under the cut
i have chosen to believe this is an oxbox reference lmao
Shattershield: *exists in the same space as Egbert*
Every Single Oxventurer In The Vicinity Bullying Him Mercilessly: You gonna cry? Huh? Lil pissbaby gonna cry?
Well I ran the Shattershield’s first dragon fight last night!
Dragons are pretty brutal, especially with lair and legendary actions!
They managed it pretty well and though the Warlock went down, the Monk nearly got turned to stone, and a few other folks were pretty close to getting killed themselves they managed to beat him badly enough that he retreated and now they have a lead on whose been helping the dragon and what his plans are.
So ONWAAARDS to the campaign that should take them from level 12 to 20(ish)

I don't have the energy to form like a concise post but Shattershield and Egbert's dynamic makes me unwell because like I think it's clear to everyone else (in the order of le dragon d'or) that Egbert is Shattershield's favorite (in the order) and half of them are endeared and the other half, especially Dryesdale, hate it so much. Like except for getting kicked out of the order Shattershield always like begrudgingly forgives him instantly because he's endeared to him. Egbert is Shattershield's boy that he wishes would follow in his footsteps as a sophisticated and no-nonsense paladin but he knows he won't, and even though they barely talk anymore there's still that deep fondness that feels like it's been there forever.
