Kine: A massive red-brown and white molly with curled ears and a strangely furred tail. She stars in stories more along the lines of the tall tales found in the early days of the United States; her strength is always exaggerated to the point of absurdity. However, with the style of storytelling used for her, it seems to make perfect sense and explains various landmarks within the Territory being a result of her swiping and missing a foe, or heaving a boulder with her tail, or making some other casual motion that would be impossible for a regular cat to affect the earth as she does. Obviously, she’s very popular with the Plage, and most likely originated there.

Ratze: A thin and lanky, plain grey-brown tom with a long face and ears. Ratze is clever and fast-thinking, but fair and generally pretty kind. He serves to teach kits to think through their problems rather than slam their heads against it until it goes away. His stories are more moral and have a point to them than Kine, who he is occasionally partnered with when having to take down a larger foe than either of them can handle alone. He is, unsurprisingly, usually the brains of the operation, which, combined with Kine’s strength, makes for a dangerous enemy. It is believed that he came from Hillock family stories and spread out to the rest of the Clan. 

Latran: A torbie molly with uncomfortably canine eyes. Where Ratze is smart in a more friendly way, Latran is full of self-serving cunning and acts to amuse herself. She would find kinship with Ananse or Br’er Rabbit, messing with people and getting away with a prize of food and pride at her own wit. Originally, Versant invented her to be a negative, unlikable character to teach the importance of kindness and helpful intelligence. Of course, characters are never reacted to the way the creators intended, and she became extremely popular as a neutrally-aligned protagonist. 

Omonarca: An evil king of monsters with shapeshifting abilities. He most often appears as a specific mashup of animals, bearing the various traits of dogs, bears, cougars, hawks and snakes. It is said that he was once a completely normal Margay who went rogue and took over the packs of monsters roaming the Territory at the time. He still bears the eyes and antlers of his kind, but is completely unrecognizable otherwise. Kine and Ratze regularly have to team up to take down whatever nasty plot he has planned for the story.
