The word from the street has been a quiet whisper, recently, thanks in part to our heroes, but unfortunately, wether they make more trouble than they prevent is up for consideration. While we’ve been able to go surprisingly long without incident recently, the question has come up as to who should be held responsible for the damage done to the infrastructure of the city, both in consideration for private and public spaces...

Today, we’ll talk about what stocks to keep and ones to drop, the details of what a tax overhaul would look like, and how current social issues are affecting the economy, both locally and globally. However, first is a special report on how the damage “superheroes” do to the city affects our infrastructure and your taxes...

We’d like to start by hoping all of our readers had a wonderful Valentines Day! We here at the DB kept things relatively quiet, as did most of the heroes here in NY. Everyone’s favorite Avenger, Tony Stark, skipped on the huge open bar, confetti explosion, model-packed, extravaganza of years past. it seems as though everyone is taking it easy, especially after New Years. But love is in the air for many of us still. The Storm’s celebrated the special day with some friends at the Parker Industries, formerly Baxter, Building, and the vigilante known as Deadpool treated everyone to a questionably legal, impromptu firework display in Times Square, which was weirdly romantic until a building caught fire...

‘Captain America’ Found Dead. 

Suspected HYDRA Involvement; S.H.I.E.L.D. is Silent. Steve Rogers Return and Where is Tony Stark?

DB. The body of Sam Wilson, known to most as the Avenger, Captain America, was found today in a currently undisclosed location. A special team of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents is on the scene preventing NYPD and reporters from getting in, but has not made a public comment. The cause of death is unknown to the public at the moment. Since word has spread, memorials in the streets have sprung up and a planned service has been announced. The Avenger was known to most as a hero and an activist and the Daily Bugle is planning to reach out to active Avengers members for comment. It is yet unknown what will happen to the team of superheroes, but former team leader Steve Rogers return may answer that question.

Live Radio Report: Billionaire Tony Stark Found Alive; Stephen Rogers Returns; and What This Means for the Avengers

With correspondent, Jeffrey Haight, and entertainment editor, Elizabeth Brant

Brant: Well this is insane. i guess something good had to come out of all of this?  Haight: Maybe. I’m not sure why the anti-mutant movement wanted to fake Mr. Stark’s death, but I’m sure we’ll find out sooner or later. The people seem to be glad he’s back.  Brant: Yeah, but this is the first time Mr. Stark hasn’t participated. I bet something was done to him. He doesn’t seem like his usual self. Haight: Well, we don’t want to start rumors. The Daily Bugle will reach out to Mr. Stark for an interview, but until then, we should be careful about what we say. Brant: Well, whatever happens, it will be interesting to see how he fits into the new Avengers roster. Haight: We’ll have to see. I- [door opens] Excuse me. ...Yes. Thank you.

Brant: Listeners, Captain America has been spotted in the city. I mean, the old one, Mr. Steve Rogers. What does that mean for the Avengers? They’re currently being lead by Sam Wilson. Although many are saying he’s not doing so great...  Haight: We’ll have to see how this plays out. Brant: Speaking of heroes, after all of the fighting, we’ve seen an increase in superhumans involved in what many consider vigilante behaviour. Haight: The NYPD are urging people to leave it to the professionals.  Brant: Although many consider teams like the Avengers professionals. We will cover this in depth when we’re joined by Sara for Politics. Haight: When we come back, we’ll continue our report of this weeks news.  Brant: Thanks, listeners.

Live Report: Mutant Crisis Update

Harrington, DB: Hello, New York. I’m here in the studio with economics correspondent, Cliff Garner, communicating with correspondents Kenny Brown and Simon LaGrange in the field. The conflicts across New York between the Avengers, X-Men, and anti-superpower organisation, HOPE continues. Conflicts have begun to be contained, but there are still skirmishes as well as massive damage occurring around the city.

Garner: Typical, really. Downtown Manhattan has been evacuated and federal troops have evacuated many of the at risk areas. 

Harrington: Any updates?

LaGrange: Yeah, Sara, I think everyone is just looking for an end to these conflicts. The ‘heroes’ have done a fine job destroying buildings and causing problems as usual, but there’s still people in danger. Government troops have begun to detain members of both HOPE and mutant sides until the whole thing can be cleared up. Word is, they’re looking to a top-secret government agency S.H.I.E.L.D. for answers, but there’s not quote yet on that.

Harrington: Thank you, Simon. We’ll send reporters out for questions. Any updates on the conflicts from where you two are standing?

Brown:  Yeah, it appears that the Avengers and X-Men are continuing to battle HOPE, along with some fighters of unknown affiliation. Emergency medical services are able to reach some civillians, but HOPE fighters are preventing access to headquarters. The guard has called for a cease fire, but no side appears to be listening.

Harrington: Is the guard getting involved?

Brown: Not yet. 

Harrington: I suppose we’ll have to wait and see.

Brown: I wish they would. This conflict has been going on for too long. It’s not considered a civil war yet, right? [Laughs]

LaGrange: It’s turning out that way.

Harrington: Well, we’ll have to see how things play out. Still no word on the missing X-Men and Avengers members?

Brown: Not yet. There’s definitely something going on under the surface.

Special Live Report: Fights Across New York; Nothing New, Apparently

Madison, DB: Hello, New York. I’m here in the studio with correspondents Kenny Brown and Simon LaGrange out in the field. The fighting across New York between the so-called superheroes and HOPE continues today. Conflicts have arisen around the Jean Grey School, the site of the mutant press conference earlier this week, and downtown Manhattan. The mayor is urging everyone to avoid these areas. Let’s go to out correspondents out in the field. Simon?

LaGrange, DB: Hello, Maddy. No one seems to be listening to official orders. This is New York and- [sounds of explosions and gunfire] -apparently, the people really aren’t surprised by anything anymore, are they?

Madison: That may be true, but we still urge everyone to use their best judgement and steer clear of the danger zones. Any updates on the conflict?

Brown, DB: Hi, Maddy. So, it appears that the Avengers and the mutant fighters known as the X-Men, have teamed up to fight HOPE. They seem to be addressing the Jean Grey School attack in an effort to protect the mutants currently taking shelter there. And also acting as recovery- working with the NYPD and emergency medical services at the site of the HOPE building collapse and explosion. 

Harrington, DB: Clearly trying to reach out to the public.

Brown: Hopefully, that’s what it’s about.

Madison: We are joined in the studio by political correspondent, Sara Harrington who has been covering the mutant conflict, HOPE, and elections. Kenny, do you suspect ulterior motives?

Brown: I don’t doubt that they’re trying to help. But you can’t ignore the fact that they make mistakes too. They have an image to protect. Or, in this case, reform.

Harrington: I suppose we’ll just have to see.

LaGrange: [Explosions] It appears that S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents are assisting the Avengers. Does this mean that the organisation has reformed and is attempting to re establish itself?

Madison: We’ll need to look into it. Sara?

Harrington: Well, that is a possibility. Or else, the Avengers are getting really desperate.
