Liu'er met the Mayor (or General in this case) when he got attacked by demons. He was on the brink of death when Liu'er/Macaque arrives (cuz he's on a trip of trying to understand and gain more powers) and saves him. The General was reluctant at first cuz he knows Macaque and how much of an asshole this dude was, constantly killing his men, playing and taunting the General whenever he wanted.

Then he passes out from blood loss. Surprisingly, he wasn't dead nor alone when he wakes up. He not only had Macaque's precious scarf stop the bleeding but Macaque was still there, tending and healing him of all beings. Safe to say, the General was stunned and even more so when Macaque let him keep his one of a kind scarf (to stop the bleeding ofc why are u blushing like a maiden, General?)

Lady Bone Demon revives Macaque and instructs him to bring her back

Macaque ignores and runs off, trying to find his one friend he still had

Macaque finds the Mayor, but he's possessed

Macaque gets upset and leaves in a huff

Macaque is going to visit the girl possessed by LBD

The Mayor is just kind of sitting on a park bench, still looking beaten up

Macaque goes to fight him at first, but then realizes the Mayor isn't crazy anymore (to an extent; he misses LBD, but is just angry and depressed)

Macaque reluctantly offers to help him, and the Mayor hesitantly agrees to it

Macaque brings the Mayor with him to visit the girl

Girl calls them her dads (they aren't happy about the insinuation of being dads together, but still care about the kid so they just go with it)

Cute hijinks ensue, such as…

Mayor takes Macaque to the eye doctor after finding that he's nearsighted (Macaque claims that everything looks blurry to him, Mayor is completely baffled that he's done nothing about it and didn't know it wasn't normal), Macaque is slightly nervous the whole time, Mayor teases him about it slightly but stays with him the whole time

Seem to actually be kind of getting along, then lock the girl in the car, then instantly fight over who's fault it was

Mayor and Macaque start kind of helping each other through their attachment issues (?)

Mayor and Macaque grow to be friends again (possible conversation about before?? maybe??)
