The first major loss that she had was actually a loss of a friendship when she was 10. She rarely had friends during her early childhood. So when she made her first close friend at age 8, Kanaria was so happy to play with the girl. Unfortunately, as they grew, this friend eventually made other friends & spent less time with Kanaria before completely leaving her behind.

May was fairly certain this map was printed backwards, because this was no the way to the Battle Tree... er, she didn't think.

Wally had told her about the Battle Tree, a place he'd visited on his own travels in Alola, and, before she returned to Hoenn to assume her duties at the Battle Frontier, she wanted to check out another battle facility, and she wasn't going to turn down an opportunity to go to Alola, of all regions.

But she couldn't find the stupid tree.

She frowned at the map in her hands, then sighed as a woman approached.

     It captures really well the struggles she goes through after the events of X to just have some kind of normal life, and that even though Serena is aware that she needs help and sometimes barely copes, it is not until everything falls away that the heroine thinks of asking for it. However, it also works nicely to describe how close to danger and harm Serena was, during the events of X, by turning to Lysandre for advice or discussing certain, more philosophical topics, because of the person he truly was.

🎵 MUSIC NOTE - what is their playlist like? their favourite artists? do you associate a particular song with them?

     Serena’s playlist is quite a mess, genre-wise. She does not particularly lean into one or the other, and it is just composed of songs that the heroine likes. Be it classical ones she dances to for a living, something Nix, Eris or Sedna have introduced her to, ones Serena has heard in passing, or from her childhood-- anything goes.

     As for particular songs, aside from the one mentioned in the first question, some of the ones I associate with her most are:

Karen called as her umbreon went running through the streets yipping excitedly at the tunes slipping through the streets. The little pokemon was hot on the trail of it making sure his trainer was keeping pace to follow after. Naturally she was, truthfully though she enjoyed music it was her umbreon who engrossed himself in it. This was no different as he made his way to the front of a small crowd all stopped to listen to the sound of the musician. Popping a seat right there he banged his head with the music letting the rings on his body light up in rhythm with it. Karen when she caught up smiled awkwardly at the performer hoping her little pokemon wasn’t bothering them too much.
