1: Lingering from 1x3 and Raphael, but everyone in the Shadow World knows who Jace Wayland is... which is both hilarious and explains even more about Alec’s issues

2: Poor Simon was assaulted and no one really addresses that. Clary’s all: “if those Vampires hurt you” like. DUH. They did. If someone had actually talked to him about that they would have realized he’d been fed Vampire blood and would be having weird side-effects (as well as PTSD) and would have told him and then he wouldn’t have been desperate enough to go back to the DuMort when he couldn’t get ahold of Clary again. BUT NO, THEY JUST LET HIM LEAVE, GOOD RIDDANCE MUNDANE. gOD, I hate how stupid they make their characters for the plot to work sometimes. (This is literally suposed to be their job and we keep getting told they’re good at it but we only see them being terrible at everything about it.)

3: Warlocks require payment before helping anyone well duh most people ask you to pay them when you HIRE THEM TO DO WORK. dipshits. all of them. You are such an asshole right now Hodge, and not a delightfully justified one like Magnus & Alec usually are

4: Speaking of, I am generally all here for Alec’s salt but calling Clary “little girl” really is obnoxious, knock it off dude, it’s not actually her fault your life is shit. (Or. I mean. She didn’t mean to make your life even more shit than it was already?)

5: I gotta assume the parabatai tracking only works against Magnus Bane who is powerful enough to block the Silent Brothers (as mentioned earlier in this episode) because the Circle already broke his Wards? OR SOMETHING? Why does this show never make actual rules for its magic/lore? whyyyyyyyyyy

5: Magnus wears like four different personality masks in this episode IT’S AMAZING, I LOVE HIM. (Also he is both a giant dork and such an asshole and he’s trying so hard not to care but he’s not very good at it, have I mentioned that I love him?)

6: I get that, logistically, for Alec panicking re: the memory demon to work, they couldn’t have Jace go before him (because Jace would probably relinquish an Alec memory, and Alec would freak out re: what does it mean?!? & what is love anyway!?! but that wouldn’t make him break the pentagram, he’d just Be A Mess™ later) & they couldn’t just have Alec go first because it would be over before he’d have a chance to Overthink Everything™, but it looks so DUMB having Valak go Izzy -> Clary -> (not Jace even though he’s next in line) -> Alec. They need to show someone, and Izzy & Clary makes sense as there isn’t anyone they could show for Magnus because we don’t know any of them yet, BUT. idk. They needed them to stand in a different order maybe? IT’S A DUMB THING TO GET STUCK ON BUT I GOT STUCK ANYWAYS.

Why did you skip Jace, Demon? Have you just added to Jace’s complexes by making him think that means he doesn’t know how to love anyone so he had no memories to give you? Does he think Alec’s denial means that Alec doesn’t want to love him at all, not even platonic/familial love? I GET THAT THEY ALL SILENTLY AGREE WE ARE NEVER TALKING ABOUT THIS EVER AT ALL NOT EVEN A LITTLE BIT BUT WTF IS GOING ON IN JACE’S HEAD RIGHT NOW?

(That is, in fact, the coda-fic I keep failing to write that inspired all that meta word-vomit the other day.)

Also, what did Jace think Alec was going to do, that he had to push Alec away from Valak and then get sucked into the tornado-demon himself? (Do we, in fact, have immediate verification of that unspoken line @rutherinahobbit mentioned at the end of the meta-spam I just linked? Alec would die for Jace, not that Jace is going to let him?)
