Three more days until /syn is real so here's little a treat!

A promotional poster made for Act 1 of /syn which is called "Ioche" and drawn by @dead-obsith. I've wanted to show this publicly for a while now and now I can!

In case I miss anything, I would recommend reading this page from the MSPA wiki (in fact, I used it to help me write this). You could also potentially look at rules for running a RPG session of sburb to help, but keep in mind those could have been modified.

Entering the game:

They must enter the game before the Reckoning destroys them

Every player is both a server and a client, usually creating some sort of loop 

The server places things (from the Phernalia registry) so the client can enter the game

There’s the Cruxtruder which releases Cruxite drowels and the kernelsprite, and starts the countdown for when they must enter the session by (or otherwise be destroyed by a meteor)

The kernelsprite can be prototyped twice by placing anything in it, either before or after entering the session (recommended at least once before to prevent a void session)

What the kernelsprite is prototyped with determines characteristics of the Underlings (enemies to be killed so players can gain grist)

The no. of prototyped kernelsprites entering the session changes the Battlefield on Skaia (hence why it needs to be prototyped at least once)

The kernelsprite becomes a sprite aka a guide once the client has entered the session, though not necessarily a good guide

The Cruxite drowels can be shaped with the Totem Lathe

The shaped Cruxite drowels are then used with the Alchemiter to create things

The game comes with a pre-punched card which is used to create the Cruxite artifact (unique to the players)

Using the Cruxite artifact (often breaking) will allow the player to enter the session

In the session:

More cards to create things for the Alchemiter can be punched once the Punch designix is placed

The players house is taken into the Medium and is on a planet unique to each player

Each planet has a Denizen and a quest tailored to the player

By destroying enemies and gaining grist, the server can build up the clients house

This is so they can pass through the different Seven Gates (located above the players home) which initially move the player among their planet, but then they move them to the server’s house + planet, then to the server’s server’s house + planet and so on

There are also Return Nodes which return a player back to their house

When the players sleep, their dream selves wake up on Prospit and/or Derse

The Prospitian and Dersite carapacians fight on the Battlefield (located on Skaia in the middle of the Incipisphere), as the White and Black of chess respectively

Players also ascend along the Echeladder as they move through their session and defeat enemies

Once they reach the Echeladder max, players must die on their Quest Bed (located on their planet) or Sacrificial Slab (located in the centre of their moon) to ascend to God Tier

They also earn Boondollars which can be spent on Fraymotifs (special moves/attacks)

If the session has a Time player, they may have a scratch construct (aka emergency reset method) that will go to Skaia if destroyed where portals setting up the session will be redirected and change the way things occur

On the (usually) Space player’s planet will be the Forge - a volcano that brings about planetary change and is lit by throwing the rings of the Black and White Queen into it

Usually located near the Forge is the Frog Temple - it usually intially contains Sburb in the Lotus Time Capsule and can then contain other things

The aim is to create a perfect tadpole which will become the Genesis frog once combined with Skaia by travelling to the centre of the Battlefield 

Also, the built up houses will have Grist rigs placed on them to feed Grist into Skaia so that the Genesis frog can mature and a new universe is created (aka the Ultimate Alchemy)

Players then gain the Ultimate Reward to enter the new universe and have influence over it

you might have a really fuckin breezy session, yo. a maid of space literally fixes space while a knight of time weaponizes time? a breeze to complete the frog breeding. a witch of light manipulates knowledge, so expect them to be VERY agile and hella smart. a seer of blood knows bonds, so they can clearly study their relationships and manage to keep it steady. hope this helps!
