New season same problems. Frankfurt has been a problem for us recently so this was never going to be easy. They were a wounded animal after their loss to Arsenal, and we were clearly still gassed after playing Barcelona even though we had more time to recover. After the first 6 or 7 mins of the first half we were cruising and Witsel's goal was waiting to happen. Even then we were sloppy in passing and they only need a chance to pounce and they took it to go into the half with the equaliser. Come the second half and the fatigue was even more apparent. Reus, Sancho Paco were all lacking the brightness and accuracy we expect from them. Even with the second goal Jadon was not having a good game but he was not alone. The presence of Hummels at the back is often unnoticed but his experience is undeniably beneficial and his injury just added to our frailties. Now we're back to the same question: "do they believe they are champions?" " do they really feel they can grind out results?" I'm getting sick of hearing it but we still keep bringing it up when we seemingly crumble under pressure. I know it's still early in the season, and we have made some positive strides in the right direction, but this second half felt like the second half of last season when we came undone. The league is a grind and little things like time management can make all the difference between winning and drawing. These add up. We carry on though 🖤💛
