Jobe Bellingham x Reader
Being away from each other was the part of football that Jobe Bellingham hated the most. Training camps. Away matches. Long flights.
Different countries every other week. It was exciting for everyone watching from the outside, but for him? Sometimes it just felt lonely. Especially lately.
Because the longer he stayed with Borussia Dortmund, the harder it became leaving her behind every few weeks.
He never admitted it openly to his teammates but he missed her constantly when he traveled.
The random texts. Her voice in the apartment. The way she waited for him after matches. Even stupid things like stealing his hoodie annoyed him less now when he was away.
So before leaving for the match abroad, he had hugged her tightly near the airport entrance and muttered against her hair, âIâm only gone three days.â
She laughed softly. âYouâre acting like youâre leaving for war.â
âI might die.â
âNo you wonât.â
âYouâll miss me though.â
She smiled. âObviously.â
And somehow that answer stayed in his head the entire flight.

The match itself went perfectly. Jobe played well. The team won. The stadium was loud, cameras flashing everywhere while Dortmund celebrated on the pitch after the final whistle.
His teammates were still hyped in the locker room afterward. Music blasting. Players shouting. Someone spraying water everywhere.
Meanwhile Jobe sat at his locker with his phone finally back in his hands after media duties. The first thing he did was open Instagram because she always posted after his matches.
Usually something supportive. A picture watching the game. Or a message saying she was proud of him.
So he opened her story automatically. And immediately froze. The smile on his face disappeared completely.
On the screen was a picture of her sitting inside a café. Smiling brightly and beside her sat a guy. Not just in the background either but close posing with her. Both smiling at the camera comfortably.
And the caption? âUnexpected coffee hangouts are the best đ€â
Jobe stared at the story for a long second then another. His jaw tightened slightly.
The locker room noise around him suddenly faded into the background. Because all he could focus on was that guy sitting beside his girlfriend while he was in another country.
He clicked through the story again. Maybe he was overreacting. Maybe it was an old friend or maybe family member but the way they looked comfortable together immediately annoyed him especially because he had never seen that guy before.
And even worse? She hadnât mentioned him once.
Jobe exited the story immediately and pressed call. The phone rang twice before she answered.
And instantly her excited voice filled his ear. âJobe! Oh my God, you won!â
Normally hearing her this happy wouldâve made him smile immediately but not tonight.
The first thing out of his mouth was: âWhoâs that guy?â
Silence. Then confusion. ââŠWhat?â
âThe guy in your story.â
Another pause, realization hit her. âOh.â
Jobe leaned back against the locker, rubbing his jaw. âSo?â
She laughed softly, clearly not understanding why he sounded upset. âHeâs just a friend.â
âA friend.â
âYes.â
Jobe stared at the ceiling for a second. âSince when?â
âI met him recently.â
âAnd you didnât think to tell me?â
She frowned slightly on the other side of the call. âJobe, itâs not serious.â
âThen why am I finding out through Instagram?â
That question made her pause because honestly? He had a point.
Meanwhile Jobeâs teammates were still celebrating loudly around him, but he barely noticed anymore. His mood had completely shifted.
âI wasnât hiding itâ, she explained softly. âHeâs just someone I became friends with.â
Jobe sighed heavily. âYou posted him smiling next to you in a cafĂ© while Iâm in another country.â
âAnd?â
âAnd it annoyed meâ. His honesty surprised even himself but he was too irritated to pretend otherwise.
âI just finished a match and opened my phone hoping to see something about meâŠâ, His voice softened slightly. âAnd instead I see some random guy making my girlfriend smile.â
That sentence immediately made her expression soften because underneath the jealousy he mostly sounded hurt. And lonely.
âYou know heâs just a friend.â
âI know now.â
âBut?â
Jobe leaned forward, elbows on his knees. âBut I hate finding things out like this.â
There was silence for a moment then he admitted quietly, âI got jealous.â
Her heart softened immediately at the honesty in his voice. Jobe wasnât the type to play games emotionally. If something bothered him, eventually he said it directly. And right now he clearly sounded affected.
âSeeing you there with another guy while Iâm stuck here aloneâŠâ, He sighed softly. âIt made me miss you more.â
That sentence instantly took away most of the tension because suddenly she could picture him exactly how he was right now.
Still in his training clothes. Tired after the match. Sitting alone with his phone. Missing her.
She smiled softly despite herself. âYouâre dramatic.â
âIâm serious.â
âI know.â
Jobe rubbed a hand over his face. âNext time just tell me before posting something like that.â
She laughed lightly. âWhy?â
âBecause that shit ruined my mood after winning.â
That finally made her laugh properly and hearing her laugh instantly softened him too.
âYouâre unbelievable.â
âNoâ, Jobe muttered, âyou are.â
Then after a moment he added more quietly,âEspecially when Iâm away from your country and canât even come see you right now.â
The possessiveness hidden in that sentence gave her butterflies immediately. honest jealousy mixed with missing her terribly.
She could practically hear the pout in his voice.âHe really is just a friend.â
âI know.â
âPromise.â
Jobe stayed quiet for a second before nodding to himself. âAlrightâ, then immediately added, âBut I still didnât like it.â
She smiled softly. âJealous?â
âVery.â
That answer came way too fast which only made her laugh again.
Jobe finally smiled a little too hearing it. Then he leaned his head back against the locker. âI miss you.â
The irritation in his voice had faded now replaced by exhaustion and affection.
âI miss you too.â
âGoodâ, He smiled slightly. âDonât post any more cafĂ© boyfriends tonight.â
She laughed loudly. âHeâs not my cafĂ© boyfriend.â
âBetter not be, cause I was about to take a flight right now to kill that motherfuckerâ
And somehow even through the phone his jealous little muttering gave her butterflies for the rest of the night.
