Shattered Glass
(I don’t know too much about SG except the inverted morality—Autobots bad, Decepticons good—different personalities, and different color schemes)
Pre-war, the Senate has grown desperate in their search for a new Matrix holder. So desperate in fact that they’re actively looking for a bot to be their next puppet prime. Senator Shockwave happens to meet the young rookie cop Orion Pax who’s gotten into trouble for trying to bust a corrupt cop. Shockwave gets Orion out of trouble and the two strike up an odd friendship. Somehow, they find common ground in wishing for a better Cybertron, despite Orion’s nihilism.
Eventually, the Senate catches wind up of Shockwave’s meetings with Orion and act swiftly. They threaten to execute Shockwave which Orion stops, offering up himself. Because as corrupt as Cybertron is, the Senator is the one bright spot he can’t live without. Proteus intervenes then, congratulating Shockwave on finding their new recruit. Orion is stunned and betrayed as he’s dragged off while Shockwave is yelling at them to let Orion go.
Annoyed, Proteus orders Shockwave undergoes Empurata as punishment. Shockwave’s spark broken about Orion until Proteus introduces before the senate the new prime: Optimus. Shockwave can’t believe it, Orion survived! Deep down he hoped he would, Orion was a good mech, surely if anyone could become the next prime it would be him. Shockwave tries to talk to Optimus but is coldly rebuffed and told their relationship died with Orion Pax.
Even so, Shockwave still receives an anonymous message telling him to avoid the Senate chambers. He did listen to those warnings and it’s lucky he did because Optimus went and slaughtered every Senator who just wanted a puppet prime.
That day, Optimus asserts himself as the new leader of Cybertron and promises to burn away the corruption. In reality, Optimus wants to burn it all down, having come to the conclusion that a society that practiced Shadowplay, Empurata, would lead innocent bots like him to the slaughter, didn’t deserve to exist.
Honestly you don't need to know *TOO* much about shattered glass except that first premise, because shattered glass technically isn't just one continuity but a group of them
But
OO?
