“Go on,” John hopes he doesn’t. “Go on, spit it out.” John doesn’t want him to. Knows he’s going to anyway- the way Gale’s looking at him almost sad. A pity as cloying as the sticky, empty bottles of ginger beer.
“Don’t make me the bad guy, Bucky,” Gale says in a low warning.
“You gonna ask me if I’ve been takin’ my meds?” John’s pacing isn’t doing him any favours but he can’t stand still, an itchy anger tingling in the soles of his feet. He can hardly look at Gale.
“I wasn’t gonna ask you that.”
“Maybe,” John points, “Maybe I’m not the crazy one here. You think of that? Because I think your own shit is gettin’ to you- maybe you wanna think I’m the one losing it in here because it’s easier than admitting you ain’t been right since you first looked at that plastic fuckin’ crucifix. Yeah, I’m medicated, Buck. I’m self-fucking-medicating. Real question here is: are you?”

Louis’ voice is just as it always was, soft and melodic like it’s calling him home, and Harry subconsciously reaches for his neck. It’s burning worse than it has in years as his palm flattens over the ragged teeth marks permanently scarred into his sin. Louis tracks the movement.
Louis' eyes widen as he realizes what Harry’s touches and Harry has to stop himself from pulling his hand back and baring his neck to his alpha.
Harry takes him in. His former best friend, his kidnapper, the pirate that sold him. He's now standing in his doorway a decade later covered in blood and gasping for breath.
“Please, don’t let me die.”
Please check TW because there are a ton of them but overall this story is about love big enough to overcome the worst situations and an alpha willing to risk everything to care for those he loves.
