"The Magic & The Romance"

My grandfather, Bob Bulcock Sr. used to tell me as a child that "there is Magic in a Baseball" and a "Baseball can change the world"... He also explained to me that the game of baseball was the most romantic game ever created by Man.

Baseball embodies equality, and we want to believe that everybody can find true love. If you were to analyze a game and the players you cannot fail to notice the egalitarianism.

Some consider it a Religion, and the movie Bull Durham showcases that. It embodies endurance and steady, burning passion - the qualities of great and everlasting love.

I have been playing the game since I was four. I played all the way until I was 15. I play back-catcher (thank Gary Carter of the Expos for that) but also can play First Base and Shortstop. I'm a switch hitter. I typically won the most stolen bases for the years I played (Tim Reins of the Expos was my hero).

I started coaching at 19, boys AA Batam (16-18yo) and yes I coached my children (from tee ball up to completive girls softball).

I love a batting cage. I love the crack of a bat as that ball is about to sore over the far wall. I love a good double-play. and I seriously love a catcher throwing out a runner stealing a base.

I'm an Expos fan first and foremost. L.A. Dodgers next. Blue Jays third. But I also follow the Red Sox, Tigers, The Phillies, Seattle and Oakland A's.

I fucking HATE the Astros and Yankees.

But I will watching any game playing. Kids at the local diamond. Old folks. pretty much everything except Slow-Pitch and the fucking Yankees or Astros.

I have seen every baseball movie a million times. I LOVE Field of Dreams. Yes, Major League as well.

Watching Freddie Freeman (#5) of the Dodgers in the World Series in the fall of 2024 was magic. His is the only sports jersey I own (white version).

It's mid March 2025... spring training is almost over. The Dodgers and Jays are playing fucking awesome and I pray to the Gods of Baseball with everything I got, they meet up for the World Series (fuck that would be amazing).

For those not aware, or who wonder why Expos fans love the Dodgers.... Prior to becoming the Expos, the team was known as the Montreal Royals and they were a farm team for the Brooklyn Dodgers. Montreal would be the city that first welcomed Jackie Robinson to "The Show" prior to him moving up to play for the Dodgers and #42.

🚀 wait so you DON'T have to use FBA to get the Amazon Prime badge??

okay hear me out because I just learned something that genuinely surprised me as someone who sells on Amazon

there's this program called Seller Fulfilled Prime (SFP) and it basically lets you display the coveted Prime badge on your listings while YOU (or a 3PL partner) handle the fulfillment instead of sending everything to Amazon's warehouses

no more:

💸 surprise placement fees

📦 seasonal storage surcharges

😤 losing control of your inventory

🚫 FBA rejecting your oversized products

the catch? Amazon is strict about it. you need same-day shipping, 1–2 day nationwide delivery, 99%+ on-time rates, and you have to pass a 30-day trial period. miss those metrics and poof — Prime badge gone.

but here's where it gets interesting

companies like AMZ Prep are literally built for this. they're an Amazon-approved SFP partner with warehouses across the country, and their routing system evaluates every single order in real time — checking delivery zones, package sizes, carrier rates — and picks the cheapest option that still hits your Prime commitment.

apparently sellers using smart routing like this save around 30% on shipping costs compared to single-carrier fulfillment. that's not nothing.

and for big & bulky stuff (mattresses, furniture, anything over 18"x14"x8" or 20+ lbs)? FBA basically doesn't want your products. SFP via a 3PL is genuinely the move — you can still get the Prime badge and supposedly convert 3–5x better than sellers without it.

Eight Sleep (yes, the fancy smart mattress brand) uses AMZ Prep for exactly this and their head of supply chain said they saved 32% on shipping costs while keeping full control of their delivery experience

tldr: Prime badge ≠ mandatory FBA. SFP exists. your margins might thank you.

“The Ring”

What if tomorrow someone, a Stranger came up to you, and offered you your dreams?

Money… lots of it.

A large new home

New cars

Yeah, those are materials things…

But what if they offered you: 

- true love, 

- the perfect partner, 

- maybe it’s children you want, 

- or to end world hunger, cure a disease, end poverty. 

Lets suspend belief for a moment, while we accept that said random person could in fact deliver on your inner desires.

All you have to do is survive twenty minutes in a cage fight, bare knuckle. You can try to run around the ring the entire time to avoid being hit - it’s entirely up to you, what you do in those twenty minutes to survive. And if you get knocked out, you are given the choice to try again at a later date, or to walk away with a consolation prize (to be determined at the time). All you really have to do is try. Take the leap of faith that you will live through it, no matter how bad it may physically hurt. Yeah, there’s the risk a hit could brain damage you for the rest of your life, or leave you requiring a wheelchair the rest of days on earth. 

It’s a risk. 

If you get hit, I promise it’s going to fuckin’ hurt. You will be left black and blue for days after those fateful twenty minutes. Your physical body, it’s going to be sore for a few weeks, and if you happened to get a few ribs cracked during the fight, well, there’s an entirely new level of pain that can take months to heal.

But if you try, if you lean into it, you just might get your dreams fulfilled. 

I understand your fear. 

Maybe you have never been in a fight your entire life. You don’t want to learn how it feels to get hit.

Maybe the risk of living out the rest of your days using a wheelchair is too big a risk for you to take.

Maybe you never learned in life how to take a hit. 

But I also know there is some inner voice, maybe it’s quiet, maybe it’s almost silent and coming from deep within, that is saying, “what if”. What if you took the chance, and you survived it. What if?

Your fear and anxiety are going to tell you, this is a bad idea. It’s not worth the risk. That anxiety is going to do everything it can to convince you that it is not worth the pain, the trauma, the twenty minutes of hell. It just isn’t. You’re smarter than that. Experience, real or imagined is going to show you all the bad things that can and might happen. You would have to be a fuckin’ idiot to get into that ring.

Your life could end in that ring. Yes, that’s a possibility. But the purpose of the Ring is not to kill you. Your opponent knows this, he’s just there to inflict pain. The Stranger didn’t offer you your dreams just to have you die three minutes into the match. The crowd, they paid for twenty minutes, they want to see a full twenty minutes. Oh, you didn’t know there was a crowd? Of course there is. Like Life, The Ring is a spectator sport. Yes some of the crowd paid to witness you suffer, and they are going to call out names and phrases telling you how stupid you are for stepping into the Ring. But again, just like your life, there are those who just want to see you suffer. But most of the crowd, are just there for entertainment. Maybe they are there to witness first hand how bad those twenty minutes can be, in the event the Stranger makes them the same offer one day. Maybe there are just random people who just happened to be there for those twenty minutes of your life. And yes there will be those in the crowd who will cheer for you.

So, are you going to step into the Ring? Take the chance? Believe in yourself enough to have the faith that you will walk out of the Ring to your Prize.

Or is your anxiety and fear going to keep you “safe”?
