Noah is a strong & loving 6-year-old boy diagnosed with Epilepsy, Systemic Mastocytosis, Mitochondrial Disease.

😌 Sadly Noah had a nighttime seizure & another one this morning. Thankfully he is doing okay but he is not feeling well from them. We are resting the rest of the day while he receives his home IV treatments through his Port-a-Cath Chest Tube & his special formula through his Feeding-Tube.

Little Angels Service Dogs has approved Noah to receive one of these very special angel dogs.

In Noah’s case, his Service Dog will be trained to perform a number of functions that will help him;   • Alert us about to 3 to 5 minutes before Noah has a seizure • Stabilize Noah when he is sitting & having a seizure so he doesn’t fall • Be able to dial a specially designed assistance dog telephone that will notify emergency personnel • Comfort Noah after a seizure with Deep Pressure Therapy • Help stabilize Noah when he is standing, walking or transferring to or from his wheelchair due to his muscle issues • Retrieve a dog vest that contains Noah’s emergency medications for his epilepsy & for his Systemic Mastocytosis. • His dog will also give Noah more independence, be his “Best Friend” with unconditional love.

💙 Noah’s Epilepsy is labeled as uncontrolled because his doctor’s have tried all of the medications for it but he still suffers with daily epileptic seizures. We have been also told that Noah has a high risk of Sudden Unexpected death with Epilepsy due to his type of seizures especially his nighttime ones.

Along with his daily seizures Noah also suffers the effects of his other diagnoses on a daily basis. He has difficulty completing daily tasks especially due to his Mitochondrial Disease. Mitochondria are responsible for creating more than 90% of the energy needed by the body and Mitochondrial diseases result from failures of the mitochondria. Noah’s Mitochondrial Disease causes him to have loss of motor control, muscle weakness and pain, tires very easily since his mito cells; which are our energy cells don’t function right, and greatly triggers his epileptic seizures.   Noah has been instructed to be homebound a lot & his body can only handle one or two short outings a week due to how greatly his health conditions affect him.
