Well this is my #sewingspace 🙀for #greatbritishquilter with @sarahashfordstudio and @verykerryberry . At the moment, as you can see,it is covered in EVERYTHING (keeping it real 😊) and needs a really good tidy up! And a very thorough Hoover 😜. Things I like about my space are, I have a nice spinning chair, a big cutting board (it is under all the stuff 😂) the light in the early evening, and my small design wall. It would be nice if the radiator wasn't there so it could be bigger, but it is what it is, and definitely better than nothing!! My other sewing space is anywhere I take my #epp . I do it all over the place, mostly while waiting for stuff to happen. My project that was put on hold indefinitely. 😥 I still have so much left to reorganize and I'm even missing furniture. I could have had it done this month, if my plans didn't crash and burn. 😭 At least the kitchen table is a comfy space for now. Trying to tidy up my sewing room and #kaffefassett is TOTALLY distracting me. Must keep focused🤣. As I was putting all the fabric away that was on the floor I pulled all my #kaffefassettcollective fabric out and put it in a basket..... you know just to look at 👀. Gonna read living in colour again as my bed time read. Such an interesting life. So this is my spot in the new house. It is roomier that my last area (with the exception on losing my sewing machine), but there is a problem. The only place my sewing cabinet could possibly go, was right next to the open fire. No good for sculptures that are having their finishing fabrics on! I ended up boxing all my work up and feeling lost as to how to proceed. While I pondered this dilemma, I diversified a little into some experiments with clay, something I have always wanted to try. It's always good to have a few creative avenues, so you can switch attentions when you get a creative block. I have now realised that it shouldn't be too much of a problem, if I make my sculptures up to their basic forms in this environment. Though I will still need to solve the problem of finding a space to finish them off. Now the warmer weather is here, the fire is getting much less use, so hopefully I can get a bit more opportunity to complete a few, assuming my colour blending experiments yield results. Being that I have two sculptures in boxes, awaiting their final colours, I decided to start another, you can see him sitting on my desk. The mini disaster that is my workspace. I'm about half done with adapting the waistcoat pattern for the second mockup. But the much anticipated embroidered blouse arrived and needs some minor tailoring before it's ready to wear. Someday I will finish a major project without a minor one interrupting it, but today is not that day.
