here are my top unhinged sewing/upcycling projects as a reminder to come back to these for ideas next time I am feeling stuck. also note that I'm extremely amateur at sewing and I do it by hand because I have not yet figured out my ancient sewing machine/might have to buy parts for it. Nor am I femme, nor do I live in a cool climate, nor do I have a lot of money. Which rules out SO many different outfit ideas but we continue. Anyways:
Quilt made of old sheets + old shirts + old pillow stuffing. self explanatory, I want a way to collect shirts with prints I liked or that have fun graphics but not have to Wear them anymore because they do not fit. And I need a larger blanket since I bought a larger bed last year
white whale stuffie for me + a miniature for my cat from old men's t shirt fabric
black t shirt with the prayer of the locked tomb embroidered on it
patch my ancient falling apart target jean jacket with patches in lesbian colors + add Good Luck Babe in orange and/or pink embroidered letters on the back
NO WAIT a hoodie or t shirt with a white whale patch + embroidery
Upcycle a couple of old hoodies into those short sleeved hooded shirts the mascs wear you know the ones. Would like to put fun stripes across the front too
Okay this is my most unhinged idea but you know those quilted shorts? And you know how I have sweatpants that are falling apart? Well. I can just quilt patch all my old falling apart sweatpants into one pair of quilted shorts and then add some type of thread pattern throughout to make it more cohesive
Denim work bag I can carabiner clip to things. Self explanatory. Hardest part would be sealing the denim from a pair of too small jeans so it doesn't fray
Reusable swiffer pads from old t shirts, self explanatory
you know those paper towel alternatives that are like the moisture wicking texture so they dry out really fast? Well. You know what else dries out really fast? old swim trunks. I do not need to explain
I want to figure out how to make some of my old dresses into tank tops or t shirts. I think the main problem with this is the necklines are really femme and I'm just no longer feeling a wide neck or women's t shirt look
More later
