“Hanta?” you call, your boyfriend lifting his head off of the pillows, “Yeah babe? something wrong?”
You’d been going through a lot recently, not that anyone else hasn’t, only that you were never good at dealing with it. Sero, being the amazing boyfriend he is, decided to sneak you out for a while, hoping to give your heart and mind a rest from the stress.
stresses of living up to expectations, classes, home life, even your own mind and thoughts.
Convincing you to sneak out, he threw you into his mothers car and made a stop at the nearest convenience store before ultimately driving to the main destination.
After that snack pit-stop, Sero had connected your favorite playlist and rolled down the windows to allow the cool air in. You always loved feeling the wind in your face, warm or cool, dry or wet, and you didn’t care about how it messed up your hair afterwards. Sero loved to watch you attempt and fix your hair afterwards.
the large lights that lit up sections of the empty highway gave sero opportunities to sneak glances at you while you sang along to the music. he loved how you knew the lyrics to (what he felt like was) every song.
you stuck your hand out the window, feeling the way the wind pushed against your open palm, savoring the way the cold air calms your nerves.
you felt a hand rest upon your thigh, comfortingly squeezing it as you turned to look at your lover, smiling at one another as he continued driving.
You watched the road turn into familiar looking homes, and before you knew it, you could feel the sharp cold breeze of the ocean. The comforting smell of the sand and salt provided a soothing aromatic soothed your overwhelmed senses, successfully calming you.
“You’re taking me to the beach?” you turned to ask him, only nodding in response and placing his warm hand on the thigh, giving it an affectionate squeeze.
Pulling up to park in the empty lot, you’d been confused as to why he parked in reverse, the front of the car facing away from the ocean. Before you could question him, he held up a finger for you to hold that thought, watching with an amused look of confusion as he got out of the car and made his way to the trunk.
“Don’t look!” he called out as you laughed and looked ahead, resisting the urge to take a glance in the rear view mirror. After about 3 minutes, he called you back. exiting the car, you shivered into the large hoodie you wore, talking to where your boyfriend was.
What a pleasant surprise it was to see the trunk of the car opened to reveal a very comfortable looking lounge space. layers of blankets looked enticing to lay on, while mountains of soft looking pillows littered the space. Small fairy lights hung from the upper edge of the trunk, allowing for a comforting glow. the snacks you’d bought were piled up in the center beside his laptop.
You had begun to tear up, turning and burying your face in your boyfriend’s chest while the sound of the waves crashing against the shore drowned out your hounding worries.
which is where you were now, lying in the trunk next to your boyfriend who had begun to drift off. “Hanta?” you call, your boyfriend lifting his head off of the pillows, “Yeah babe? something wrong?” he asks you, running his hand through his hair. “Thank you.” you whisper, curling into his side, “Aw, don’t mention it babe. You deserve these breaks.” he said wrapping his arm around you.
You let out a shout of surprise when he rolled you on top of him, legs on either side of him while you braced yourself against his chest. “I love you baby.” you whisper, leaning down to ghost your lips over his, “i love you too.” he responds, one hand resting behind his head while the other finds solace on your hip.
You shivered when you felt the brisk air nip at your exposed skin, the ocean waves serving as a relaxing white noise. Sero leaned in to meet you in the kiss and rolled you over onto your back, caging you in with his body while fingers intertwined with yours beside your head.
He pulled away for a moment to admire how your eyes stayed closed in bliss, small breaths leaving your now swollen lips as he watched the way your chest rose and fell with every breath. “God, you’re beautiful..” he whispers, diving in to kiss you again, one hand freeing themselves from yours and reading down to tangle into your hair, holding the nape of your neck.
You threw your arms around his neck and pulled him closer, moaning gently into the kiss. you felt his free hand sneak it’s way under your shirt and gently slide over the skin of your hip. your back arched and he took the opportunity to slip his hand on your lower back, gliding up to your bra clasp.
You weren’t cold after that, and your stressors and worries were no longer occupying your mind, solely the love for yourself and your boyfriend at that moment. the fogged windows slightly obstructed the view from the outside, and in a way, it was as if the love you and sero created protected you from anything else outside of what was existing now.
you knew that you eventually had to return to everything, but knowing in your heart that you had someone who would stick by your side and help you throughout it all made it easier.
