Dad!Roman x Latin!Reader Roman throwing a quinceñera for his daughter.
So I saw that for quinceñeras they are doing merch stores now??? HUH. On one hand, I don't like, it's too extra, but on the other hand I could get behind it with some changes. Anywho. It's so over the top, it's so extravagant, it probably costs a lot of money for the stuff I was seeing that people had in their "merch store". If you and Roman have a daughter, he is 100% doing that shit for her quince. Listen, he may not know all the ins and outs of the occasion but from what you've explained it's going to cost a lot and he wants to spare no expense.
If you have family wanting to sponsor part of the event, Roman WILL bristle at that. He can afford it all on his own, he doesn't need any help. You can accept this or explain that it's not about the money, but about family playing a role in the ceremony. He will not like it, but fine, whatever.
He may not have much hand in the planning. He's handing you a credit card and telling you to go nuts. If you need something, let him know and he'll make some calls and get the best services in the city. Some of them definitely owe him a favor so his girl is going to have her pick of whatever venue she wants, a custom dress, the best caterer, best photographer, whatever she wants.
On the day of the actual party, it will finally hit him and he'll understand the significance of the tradition. He'll quietly wish to himself that he could've seen something like this from his own parents, but he's grateful he was able to give the experience to his daughter instead.
He's not an emotional guy, but you can see he's a bit stiff handing her the last doll and dancing with her.
So, a little while ago the lovely @dearsimp requested some headcanons involving a reader from Mexico, it just so happened their birthday was a few days ago so I apologize again for being late! Hopefully these are acceptable, Iâm afraid I donât know much about Mexico, but I did some research which is partially why it took so long and I hope they are ok! I am so so sorry if anything is inaccurate Iâm going off of google and a few Mexican cooking programs T_T Iâm Scandinavian, so this is all new territory for me, Iâm also so sorry if any of the Spanish is incorrect, I only speak English and Japanese, so I used a translator! Also I hope you are staying safe during earthquake season!
This is all fluff, no ratings, gender neutral reader a some slight kissing but nothing too steamy, I really hope these are ok! I had fun writing them! Much love to all my Latinx readers <3
Tomas:
You turn the dough out on the counter with a satisfied *plop*, you turn to your lover as he wipes some of the flour off your brow, âsee, not that hard is it?â You ask as you begin to knead and work the lump of dough, trying to create something smooth and homogenous like your Abuela showed you years ago. Once satisfied with the shape you place it in an oiled bowl to rise as you turn once again to your stand mixer to create the cookie-like crust for the delicious treat.
âIt smells delicious, I canât wait to give them a try,â Tomas replies as he sneaks a little kiss on the top of your head. He sadly didnât remember much about his own family traditions having been orphaned at such a young age, so he loved and treasured the time the two of you spent together sharing your proud Mexican culture.
You fiddle with the dough, rolling it in even balls before coating them with flattened-out sheets of the cookie-like topping.
âIs that a tortilla press?â Tomas asks commenting on your ingenious method for flattening out the pastry.
âMy Abeula was a smart cookie! She always worked smarter, not harder!â You smile and make quick work of the cookie balls. You carefully drape the little cookie sheets over the dough balls and carve a fun swirling pattern into the confections, ânow they just have to bake and weâll be ready to eat them!â
âI know it would have been less work to just go to the bakery to eat them, but Iâm so glad you suggested making them ourselves,â Tomas comments as he tucks the little cookie sheet in for himself and leans back to admire his somewhat clumsy, albeit perfect in your eyes, little conchas.
You steal a kiss, leaning over the counter to claim the smoke wielderâs lips, your soft velvety ones brushing lightly against his slightly chapped ones. Itâs sweet and perfect in the moment, and you sigh a little as you open your mouth at the press of his tongue, he tastes warm and sweet and you can immediately tell heâs been stealing bits of the cookie dough. You donât scold him though, instead, you lick his lips and suck softly on his tongue, eager to get more of the sweet, vanilly taste.
He reluctantly breaks the kiss as soon as the oven dings indicating it was hot enough to bake the conchas. âGuess we can finally bake these huh?â
âY-yeah,â you reply a little flustered, anytime Tomas kissed you he immediately had that effect on you. You brush some of your hair back from your face as you put the tray of waiting pastries in the oven and set a timer. âWe have about 18-25 mins, can you think of anything do to in the meantime,â you ask, giving him a suggestive smirk.
âOh I can think of something,â he grins, his silvery eyes sparkling with a promise of things to come as he lifts you onto the kitchen counter and closes the gap between the two of you to capture your lips in a passionate dance.
Syzoth:
Itâs Independence Day, something you had been looking forward to all year if for nothing else than all the delicious food available in the Zocalo. Unfortunately for your boyfriend, though he couldnât stomach Earthrealms foods, you look over at him remorsefully as you take a big bite of your delicious Taco al Pastor. Your eyes roll back momentarily as you sink your teeth into the delicious meat and the pillowy soft tortilla, âare you sure you donât want to at least try it Sy?â
âIâd love to sunshine, but it will give me indigestion most foul and I donât think either of us want to bear witness to that,â Syzoth frowns as he explains his predicament.
âThere must be something at one of the stalls similar enough to the food youâre used to in Outworld,â you sit there as you finish your taco mulling over the different possibilities the fiesta might have. âWhy donât we walk around the market and see, if there is anything Iâll get it for you, my treat!â You smile brightly and drag your boyfriend off towards one of the large covered markets adoring the city capital.
âWoah, woah! Slow down Sunshine, we have all day,â the Saurian laughs as heâs dragged from stall to stall with you, each one of them having what must be Earthrealm delicacies but nothing he could find palatable until you turned the corner.
âThere!â You cry excitedly as you point to the mound of deep-fried grasshoppers, âchapulines!â
Syzoth cocks his head hesitantly before sniffing the pile of fried grasshoppers, they smelled delicious and had his mouth-watering, âcan, can I try some? Those might just do it,â he replies as his stomach lets out an embarrassing gurgling sound.
Youâre quick to order some for your lizard boyfriend and the vendor seems a little surprised you donât want any tortillas or toppings but piles the grasshoppers in a dish for the two of you and sets it on the counter.
Awkwardly Syzoth grabs a fork and tries to spear one of the crunchy little delicacies, only to no avail, âSunshine a little help here?â He asks still not entirely familiar with Earthrealm eating customs.
âYou can use your hands Sy, itâs fine!â You reassure him as his emerald eyes sparkle with delight.
Slowly he munches on one of the grasshoppers, trying to assess if they were palatable for him.
âWell?â You ask with bated breath, so curious if you finally found something your Saurian boyfriend could enjoy.
âThese are amazing!â He exclaims before shoving a handful in his mouth, chirping and crunching happily. âTheyâre so crispy and savory! So, similar to my natural diet!â
You clap your hands in delight as Syzoth makes quick work of his snack and you quickly order him two more portions, the vendor equal parts confused and elated at the customerâs clear enjoyment of his product.
âViva Mexico!â Syzoth cheers happily before proceeding to stuff his mouth.
You beam at him so excited you are finally able to share something special about your heritage with the Saurian.
Kuai Liang:
âI would love to but I donât know how xingan,â Kuai Liang laments as the two of you skirt around the brightly lit plaza.
Bands are playing festive music and lots of couples dancing merrily and you want to be part of the fun, however; your boyfriend does not know how to dance. âI can teach you, but Iâm afraid I donât know how to dance very well either, but I do remember some steps my Abuelo taught me when I was little.â
âI suppose we can try,â the pyromancer offers you a sheepish smile as you lead him towards the center of the plaza.
You try and keep to the rhythm, trying to remember what your Abuelo taught you, but it seemed as though the two of you had two left feet, tripping each other at every turn. You didnât care though, you were just happy to be spending time together, during this local festival.
âI told you I donât know how,â Kuai Liang seems apologetic and hangs his head in defeat as the music tempo changes to a melodic love song.
âCome on, even you can dance to this,â you reassure him as you sway your hips to the slow tempo and count out steps for him to follow. Itâs clumsy yet perfect all at the same time, you rest your head against his warm shoulder, loving the comforting warmth he provides. The song ends and you are reluctant to part from the pyromancer, but it does not appear that he has any intention of letting you go as he pulls you closer, the heat radiating off his body.
His lips find yours in a slow practiced motion as you tilt your head instinctively to the side and enjoy your soft moment, forgetting you are in public, all you can focus on is the man you love.
Bi-Han:
âUno mas!â Bi-Han calls out confidently to the barkeep indicating he indeed wanted another shot of tequila.
âPolar Bear thatâs like your fifth shot shouldnât you slow down?â You ask, your words slurred and sluggish.
âPssshhh I can drink all night qÄ«n!â He grins with confidence as he downs the bitter liquid as you stuff a lime into his mouth and he slams the glass down triumphantly. âBesides, I donât need your help ordering them anymore, did you see that? Huh? I ordered it all by myself!â He laughs, clearly proud of the fact he has mastered one Spanish phrase.
You canât help but laugh at his silly antics and grin at him, âoh yes! Iâm very proud of you! Wait, wait! I have such a good idea! Itâs my birthday and you said we could do whatever I wanted right?â You ask, crowding the cryomancer, the cold rolling off his flawless body doing little to combat your flushed cheeks.
âYeah⊠what do you have in mind?â He asks before motioning for another shot and downing it before you can scold him.
âI want to see you in a charro suit! Please Polar Bear? Youâd look sooooo good in one!â You clap your hands together excitedly, practically bouncing out of your seat at the idea.
âWhere do we get one?â He asks, his speech starting to slur.
âThereâs a rental store a few doors down! My parents used it for my quinceañera!â You exclaim as you hurriedly pay the tab and grab your behemoth of a boyfriend out of the bar.
âI saw the pictures from that, that dress was insane qÄ«n, so fluffy! So many layers! You looked so cute!â He almost giggles as he recalls the details of your amazing quince dress.
âMy dad picked it out, but thankfully he has good taste,â you laugh and drag him to the rental store, after a quick conversation with the shopkeeper Bi-Han finds himself mostly naked in the dressing room and you canât help but look over every delicious inch of tanned, muscular flesh, âoh yeah, thatâs my man,â you sigh contently to yourself.
After a few moments in the dressing room Bi-Han returns head to toe in his charro suit, âjust call me fucking Bi-Juan! I look amazing in this!â He slurs and wobbles a bit in the tight-fitting shoes.
You canât hold it together any longer and fall off your chair with laughter at his declaration of âBi-Juanâ, âoh my god, Polar Bear stop! That has to be racist!â
âNah itâs call good! Iâm dating a beautiful Latina, her-hermosa,â he replies with a sly smirk and a slight hiccup. âCome on qÄ«n itâs your birthday! Why arenât we drinking more!?â He throws the shopkeeper a wad of bills which was clearly more than the suit and shoes cost as he picks you up with ease and throws you over his shoulder. âVamanos!â
You squeal as he handles you like you were nothing and laugh as the two of you make your way back to the bar to continue your birthday celebrations.
Dancing/Teaching them to dance to Latin music
Rating: T for handsy partners
Character x GN!Latin!Reader
This is a grab bag of characters from different fandoms and some general headcanons I have about them dancing to Latin music with you! For ones that are like fantasy/sci-fi, just imagine it is the Latin equivalent of music in said universe.
These are my own personal thoughts on these characters and I know not everyone will agree and thatâs okay! I hope you still enjoy these!
Disclaimer: I canât dance.
Serious disclaimer: I already struggle with my cultural identity enough and feel comfortable enough to post things like this here. How I experience/d my culture may not be how you experience/d yours and vice versa.
If you see something and donât like how Iâve interpreted it, described it, what have you, then just move on please.
I am not any less of who I am.
Now onto the fun stuff!
In order, this list is comprised of characters from:
The Warriors (1979) Apex Legends Devil May Cry Star Wars Batman (not DC, just Batman Characters) Marvel
thoughts no one asked for but my mind has no mouth and must scream
Alfred Pennyworth (Batman 2022) x latin!reader
I love reading Alfred Pennyworth fics or scenes where someone else takes care of him. Being latin, I think of how I grew up in a household where we did a lot of things on our own and all the effort that would go into what we did especially cooking.
I like to imagine Alfred being with someone who cooks for him and it isnât just the normal meals heâs seen and done before, but like sturdy and hearty meals he probably doesnât get to eat much or has never made. And he is fascinated with all the work they put into it. He watches them grind the spices, roll out tortillas, and cook with like five different pots going at once, but they make it look so effortless.
| He watches them stir something in a pot, taste from another, and nod to themselves, satisfied with the flavor. They turn down the heat and set the pot aside and retrieve what he would describe as a griddle, but later learned was called a âcomalâ. There was a bowl of small balls of dough that they had set aside. Alfred cranes his neck from where he sits at the kitchen bar to watch them expertly roll the ball out into flat circles for tortillas. The rolled out discs of dough gets slapped onto the comal and flipped with their bare hand periodically until they are cooked and transferred to a small basket.|
I imagine that Bruce and Alfred eat classic European dishes mostly and probably a lot of takeout, but getting fresh food from another culture might be rare. Also I think Alfred would enjoy seeing someone else do something with discipline and precision considering that matches/would match his own personality and how he carries himself. I think it would comfort him in knowing that someone else heâs close with could understand where he comes from when it comes to his military background or how he is with Bruce.
To piggyback off of this, based off of my experiences with my latin family, I like to imagine that they can help bring Bruce and Alfred together. I remember everyone being in the kitchen helping make whatever meal we were having and it being kinda fun. Like yeah, we were working (I recall my first time making tamales, oh lord), but we didnât treat it as a chore. It was a time to come together and just spend time with each other. We talk and laugh and joke and then we get to sit down and eat this food we made together.
I like to imagine the reader drags Bruce and Alfred into the kitchen and have them help with the cooking. Theyâre learning how to cook and Alfredâs telling stories of when Bruce was a boy and Bruce tells stories about catching Alfred up on trends. In my head, itâs a cozy and wholesome scene and I had to get it out there.

âHola mi amor! I brought you some lunch.â You said as you and daughter brought in bags from nearby fast food places, as well as a bag of takoyaki from his favorite stand.
âHi daddy!â Your daughter shouted as she put the food on his desk and got a running start, laughing herself into his stomach.
His loud laugh rang through his office as he squeezed his little girl close,Â
âHiya my little concha!â He said as he lifted his little girl over his head, her fingertips almost brushing the ceiling, making her shriek in laughter.
He placed her on his shoulder and watched as his wife waltzed over, smiling up at him.
âThanks for the lunch babe.â He said as he wrapped an arm around your waist and picked you up to kiss him.
âI also brought some food for Tamaki and your new intern, although I didnât know what heâd like so I just brought him McDonaldâs.â You fussed as the two ended up walking through the door as you ranted to your husband.
âTama-Chan!!â Your daughter yelled out when she saw the third year, scrambling to climb down from her father and to the shy boy. The boy smiled softly down at her, although slightly startled by her outburst. The girl then stood in front of him and calmed down and in a soft voice spoke,
âHi Tama-chan, I missed you.â She said clapping her hands together and tugging at his cape.
Kirishima looked down in surprise at the girl, most kids around her age would be loud and rowdy, stressing out his older friend.Â
âHello! You must be Kirishima, my husband has told me so much about you!â You said as you stick your hand out for the boy to shake,
He slightly blushed at your kindness and look your hand, he froze, a tad confused,
âYour husband, miss?â He asked,
âWhat kid? She too pretty to be my wife?â He heard his boss say as he walked up behind the woman and placed a large hand on her shoulder.
âN-No sir! I was just surprised! You never mentioned being married,â He stuttered making you laugh,
âDaddy! Iâm gonna marry Tama-chan!â Your daughter said making you laugh,
â-Or having a kid!â He continued as Fatgum pulled his daughter off of a flustered Tamaki,
âSheâs claimed to love Tamaki since the first time she met him.â You explain with a giggle as you lit up,
âOh! I forgot! I brought you two lunch. I didnât know what you like Kirishima so I brought you some McDonaldâs, I hope thatâs okay.â You said as you looked off to the side, worriedÂ
âThank you Ms. Gum! You really didnât have to do that!â He said as your daughter handed him the bag of food.
âIâm (d/n).â She said as she looked up at the red head.
âIâm Eijiro Kirishima, nice to meet you.â He introduced as he crouched down to her level and stuck a hand out for her to shake,
She looked into his eyes and slowly gasped, her eyes sparkling, she took his face in her little hands and smiled,
âI love you! Weâre gonna get married!â She said as her parents and Tamaki froze.
Tamaki went to go sulk against a wall while you gently giggled and rubbed his back,
âDonât think too much about it Tamaki, hun.â You said as he mumbled.
Fatgum had pried his daughter away from Kirishima who was careful not to activate his quirk. Said boy watched your daughter climb her father, at one point sinking into his fat and falling into a fit of laughter.Â
âTamaki, I brought you some refills from the market.â Kirishima hears you say from behind, handing the indigo haired boy a few small paper bags with what he assumed was food he could use with his quirk. The boy took them gratefully and quietly thanked the woman.
Kirishima at this point was already digging into his meal that youâd brought him, watching, amused at how your daughter interacted with Tamaki.Â
âWe have to go now, vamonos cariño, you say to your daughter, holding your hand out for her to take hold of, âhold on mommy!â she calls, running over to Kirishima and wrapping her little arms around his leg, âbye Kiripima!â she says with a wide smile as she ruffled her hair, watching her scatter off to her waiting mother.Â
âplease be careful tonight, I have a feeling.â you say looking up at your husband who came down to press a kiss to your head, âof course puddinâ.â he responded smiling down at his wife and daughter, âte amo Tai.â you whisper to him as he grins widely, âi love you too, sugar. See you and the dumplin at home.â he says waving to you as you both walk out, giving a final call and wave to the interns.
âTamaki, Kirishima! Stay safe tonight!â
Kirishima smiled at the concern and waved back, sniffing happily and looking over at his boss, âyour wife is so nice Fatgum!â he gushes, finishing the last of his burger.
âShe cooks the best Mexican food too! you two should come to dinner on friday!â
âall right!â âi-i canât believe (d/n) doesnât like me anymoreâŠâÂ
