⠀ Series Turf War Blog Post ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ Series at War: Starz's Power ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ #TeamGhost by K. Grimes ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ Good Afternoon all. Well we’ve finally come to the end of this version of the Power series. And as #TeamTommy stated, the writers took us on the scenic route to get here. First let me congratulate #TeamTommy for they won in the sense that Tommy is alive but apropos to his name, Ghost will haunt him from the grave. But not because of all the hate and animosity that transpired this season, but because of the reconciliation and the fact that Tommy and Ghost healed their brotherhood. As confirmed by Tommy attempting to save Ghost and crying as he died in his arms. Tommy will miss Ghost more than he may even know for Tommy reconfirmed Ghost was the brother he never had. Tariq and Tasha however will rue the day they turned their backs on what Ghost tried and failed to get them to see, which is the world beyond crime. It’ll be interesting to see how their lives unfold without Ghost. Tariq hated Ghost for always lying because Ghost wanted to shield Tariq from who he was and get him to see who he was becoming. Tasha hated Ghost for the same reason, they liked the old Ghost. Tariq has yet to prove that he has the cunning to achieve what his father built from scratch. Tariq was afforded all the opportunity to be more and better than Ghost but all he’s shown is he wants to be Ghost. Now he’ll have to live up to the name without access to his father’s wealth. The irony is in order to obtain that wealth he'll have to do what he was so resistant to wanting. Tasha meanwhile has to once again try to scheme her way out of a jam and will realize that Tariq may not be there to take care of her as he professes. I'm sure their mother/son bond will be stretched to the limit. One thing for certain is their roads got infinitely harder without Ghost steering the ship. Series Turf War Blog Post ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ Series at War: Starz's Power ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ #TeamTommy ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ Hello World!⠀ ⠀ ⠀ After a longer wait than any fan expected at the start of the final season of Starz's Power, we have finally arrived at the series finale and #thefinalbetrayal. And #TeamTommy couldn't be happier with how #thefinalbetrayal played out...I just wish I could say the same for the entire final episode and final 5 episodes that we were forced to wait for. But before I continue with #TeamTommy's final post, SPOILER ALERT!!! If you haven't seen the series finale of Power, STOP READING NOW!⠀ ⠀ ⠀ Alright, folks. I have mixed reviews regarding the Power series finale. While I ended the show with a series of rounds of applause for what transpired during the last 35-40 minutes of the episode, I felt like the first 50 minutes spent way too much time rehashing the last four episodes. But more importantly, I couldn't wrap my mind around the fact that both Paz and Tate got their own 1-hour episodes (Dre and Tommy's 1-hour episodes were well-deserved), but TASHA and TARIQ split a 90-minute series finale that spent the first half of the episode rehashing everything we already knew??? While I was happy to see the entire cast one last time, the number of new nuggets dropped during that time didn't warrant the need to make us sit through 50 minutes of redundant television during the series finale of one of our favorite shows. However, the last act of the show was worth waiting for and well-worth everything that preceded the wait.⠀ ⠀ ⠀ Earlier on in the season, #TeamTommy commented that Tariq was the New Ghost. So seeing Tariq prove #TeamTommy right (and proud!) during the series finale last night validated #TeamTommy's assumption. But the scene before #thefinalbetrayal when the ghost of Kanan gives Tariq the pep-talk needed to get the job done was EPIC and the start of my series of rounds of applause!!! However, this #SeriesTurfWar wasn't about Tariq versus Ghost, it was about Ghost versus Tommy. So, it's time for #TeamTommy's verdict on who won.⠀ ⠀ Cont.
