EVEN THOUGH SHE DOESN’T OWN THE PLACE, she certainly carries herself like she does. house parties in sunset hills were similar to something in cliche coming of age, YA movies. soleil means it as an insult, especially as she passes by a couple who were both on the rinse cycle of their makeout session. the lights are dim and the music’s loud, which would be a welcome sound if it weren’t for the mass amounts of people yelling to be heard over it. it’s practically a relief when she sees seraphina, taking it upon herself to make her way through the crowd towards her. “ phi, ” soleil greets, “ tell me you have something fun to share or for me to look at. it’s so chaotic in here, i don’t know where to look first. ”

somehow  ,  through  the  mix  of  people  crowding  around  ,  nathan  had  managed  to  get  himself  a  spot  on  a  couch  .  he  was  leaned  back  against  the  cushions  ,  albeit  uncomfortably  close  to  a  couple  making  out  right  beside  him  .  he  tries  to  pay  little  mind  to  it  .  putting  his  focus  on  taking  a  hit  off  his  vape  ,  looking  around  the  room  ,  only  to  feel  saved  by  an  angel  herself  when  seraphina  happened  to  walk  by  him  .  “  hey  !  ”  he  called  out  in  her  direction  ,  “  you  tryna  be  like  them  ?  ”  lifting  his  shoulder  ,  he  gestures  over  to  the  couple  beside  him  ,  and  he  smirks  .  (  @seraphinarh​  )

usually  ,  at  this  time  of  night  ,  nathan  would’ve  been  sprawled  out  on  his  couch  .  his  feet  would  be  kicked  up  on  his  coffee  table  ,  some  random  movie  would  be  playing  ,  with  a  joint  between  his  lips  helping  him  relax  .  but  no  .  somehow  he’d  managed  to  seat  himself  on  a  stool  at  a  club  ,  cradling  a  beer  in  his  hand  ,  and  eyeing  some  drunken  fool  stumble  their  way  over  to  someone  familiar  .  at  first  the  guy  seemed  harmless  ,  an  intoxicated  idiot  who  probably  didn’t  even  know  where  he  was  .  but  the  longer  nathan  sat  there  watching  ,  the  more  he  realized  this  guy  just  didn’t  know  when  to  quit  .  it  takes  only  a  second  for  nathan  to  forget  about  his  beer  entirely  in  favor  of  making  his  way  over  to  the  guy  (  and  the  poor  waitress  having  to  deal  with  him  )  .  “  hey  ,  ”  using  his  big  boy  voice  ,  he  announces  himself  .  “  is  this  guy  bothering  you  ?  buddy  —  ”  he  turns  ,  keeping  his  stance  strong  ,  “  i  think  it’s  best  you  leave  my  girl  alone  .  she’ll  hand  your  ass  to  ya  before  i  can  drag  your  sorry  ass  outta  here  .  ”
