This is my truth
I spoke to my friend in the morning she was bubbling with excitement that she got chosen to do a presentation in the WTC. She called me again from the base of towers before she made it to her fate on the 106th floor of the North Tower. I was at work standing in my patients room thinking this is a joke- then I saw the reports - plane hit the north tower- I sank to me knees and cried out my friends name- my manager let me go and I made my to nyc- for 2 weeks I searched-every hospital every church showing random people her picture in the streets all to no avail.

I thought, maybe... just maybe.. and for a split second maybe I had a chance. And then reality kicked in.. I was saving all the things of us thinking we could be, just not rn. When in reality there wasn’t any to begin with.
