Pomni had been living in the circus for a few months at this point and… she couldn’t say it was great but it definitely wasn’t as bad at it was her first week here, that was truly a nightmare… but at least she has Jax now!

After Caine’s failed exit adventure she had nearly… abstracted a couple days later… until Jax came in and snapped her out of it after that their friendship got patched up and eventually bloomed into romance… no one else knew about that of course (the her nearly abstracting and Jax snapped her out of it thing) so when Pomni and Jax announced that they started dating there were a LOT of objections from everyone (minus Kinger who was honestly proud of Jax for getting out of his shell) Ragatha was the loudest but was quickly shot down by Jax (although even after all these months Ragatha, Gangle, and Zooble still object to their relationship)

So Pomni was looking forward to the day and spending time with her Jax there was no world this could end poorly!

Everything was going terribly! Ragatha had no idea how to get through to Pomni about Jax! He was no good for her… and Pomni was her best friend! She couldn’t let her end up like… the others

Zooble and Gangle agreed! He was probably just using her for something! Or it was a ginormous prank that would leave poor Pomni heart broken!(and honestly they had both become a little codependent)

Anyway they had a plan to make her see that she didn’t need him! They would convince Caine to… separate the pair for a couple days

But when they went to talk to him about it he was… less then adamant, he said he still felt like he was on thin ice for the exit adventure thing even after his “new human improvements” update (which he was, the players are not letting go of that one. The update includes the ability of clothing customization, better tasting food, and much to his dismay more suggestion box adventures) and that he didn’t want to rock the boat

But after a discussion the three of them managed to convince Caine this was the best thing for Pomni (it definitely is not)

The next morning Caine announced that there would be two adventures today! One for the boys and one for the girls and Zooble

Jax: “who the hell suggested that?”

Caine: “can’t say Jaxy! Voter anonymity and all that!”

And unlike most times where Zooble would sit out they actually decided to join (since they already knew what the adventure was)

Caine introduced the adventures!

SURVIVE IN THE WOOD AND TRY NOT TO DIE!

Jax: “wait wha-”

Caine: “amazing idea I know! Anyway have fun Kinger and Jax!”

And before Jax or Pomni could protest Caine already had opened the portal and sucked Kinger and Jax in

Pomni of course complained saying that Caine promised he wouldn’t force them on adventures anymore but oddly to her the others defended him

Anyway Pomni and the others start the paint house adventure, draws, and comes back to the circus… to no Jax and no Kinger when asked all Caine said was

Caine: “OH! Uhhhh Kinger and Jax seemed to be having such a great time together on the adventure I decided to let it run for a day or two more!”

Pomni of course complained but once again Caine got defended by her “friends”

Pomni argues with them after Zooble suggests that Jax being gone for a couple days is a good thing and goes to her room

Another day passes still no Jax, two more days pass Still. No. Jax

On the seventh day Pomni has a bit of breakdown, yells at everyone (minus Kinger and Jax who are having an awful time) and runs off

Pomni locks herself in Jax’s room (he gave her a spare key) and usually Jax and her would cuddle up for the night to sleep with her in his arms, warmth, and scent… but all she feels now is the cold… she puts on one of Jax’s used black t-shirts to feel like she’s with him and cries herself to sleep

Back to the first day of Jax getting stuck

Ragatha has to admit… that could have gone better

Ragatha: “… do you guys think this is a mistake?”

Zooble: “of course not! It’s only been a couple of hours. It’s going to take awhile for her to stop thinking of him especially since they’ve been basically conjoined at the hip since they started dating publicly. Give it time she’ll start seeing that she doesn’t need him”

But then the next few days go by and Pomni has just completely cut herself off from everyone

This had to have been one of the worst weeks of Jax’s life, top 5 at least, first he got stuck on an adventure by himself with Kinger, secondly he was forced to survive a forest full of Wendigos, werewolves, and some kinda resident evil boss, and thirdly and most importantly Caine wouldn’t let them leave, wouldn’t let him go back to his doe, who needed him there!

He couldn’t leave her alone, not with her thoughts… he was alone with his thoughts for so long before Pomni came into the picture and… she grabbed him out of a pit she didn’t know about… so screw it! He would have time to strangle and yell at Caine for being an idiot later! He would beat whatever nightmarish abomination Caine could think of to throw at him! (and kinger too he supposed) and he would get back to Pomni!
