It had been a couple of weeks since the Apprentice had cured Rumple and since then the former Dark One, with the help of Belle, was embracing his chance at redemption even more than Regina ever had. He was apologizing to people left and right, returning their former belongings from his pawn shop to them, whether they wanted them or not.
So she wasn’t too surprised when she got a call from the town’s librarian, requesting her to come down to the shop because Rumple had something to tell her.
When she walked into the pawn shop, the bubbly girl told her that everybody else was there already and smiled as she led her to the back room. She expected to see the Charmings, but aside from Rumple there was a man she’d seen around town before but never talked to.
“This better be good, Rumple. I have a town to run here.” She said as she sat down.
Thankfully he didn’t waste any time and started talking right away. “Regina, I owe you the biggest apology of all. You see, I needed a powerful sorceress to cast the curse, and I knew that would be you from the moment you were born. And I needed you to be miserable and lonely. And this is where I need to apologize to you too, Arthur. See, a couple of years after Regina was born, Cora and Henry Sr. had another baby, a son. And I stole him from them and brought him to Camelot so Regina wouldn’t have a sibling to commiserate with. And that baby was you. I’m sure there’s a lot the two of you have to talk about now. Again, my deepest apologies to you both.” And with that he got up and left the room.
The last thing she had expected to hear was that she had a brother and her brain was still trying to wrap itself around the shock about those news as she looked over at the man who apparently was her brother. “Well, that was unexpected.”
