Since I’ve never seen them mentioned on my dashboard, it’s a pleasure to recommend Sarah Caudwell’s four detective novels. Their narrator, Hilary Tamar, is an Oxford law professor who pays frequent visits to a group of former pupils, all now barristers in London. Corpses have a way of turning up among these young lawyers, and Prof. Tamar is inevitably drawn into the investigation. (Attention is also paid to the, um, personal lives of the young people.)
If I tell you any more than that, I’ll give away far too much.
Caudwell wrote The Sibyl in Her Grave during her final illness, and it isn’t quite up to the standard of the others. But they’re all good, and they’ve been an influence on my own writing!

I wrote this chapter in mid-August, during a week when there was a project going on of re-watching episodes to see how well or badly they passed the Bechdel Test. I though it might be interesting to try to turn this on its head. While I hope that the resulting conversation will make readers smile, I recognize that some may find it unrealistic.
Sam/Andrew shippers are coming out of the woodwork! This is so exciting!

Alas, we have no way of contacting these people directly because they reviewed as guests - without leaving a user name. Tumblrfolk, you can sign a review on FFN without being signed in to the server. Thank you to @bloghey131313 for doing just that!
Meanwhile, what can we do for these enquirers? In addition to the FFN list, there’s AO3, and I’ve been given to understand that there are some stories tucked away here - but that you have to be registered on the site to see them. Anyone know of other places?
