Oh my goodness!! Hi!!

I’m so glad you’re enjoying the series so far! I actually was looking for an old old photo of Faro from ages ago but couldn’t find it. So I’m happy to share what I can!

In the very general basics of it all, since he’s the same age as/close friends with Riju, he starts off with very much the same taste as her. They were the same size for a while and would swap clothes/outfits and such. Especially because he grew up rather poor so most of his clothes were on the hand-me-down/tattered side.

Now once he comes out…..he goes through MANY different phases. Probably the most out of all the characters I have so how you draw him really depends on what era of him you want to draw! In BOTW he would’ve been dressing similarly to Riju/in traditional Gerudo clothes, his hair would’ve been its natural red and very long, fluffy, and curly like he’s a damn mermaid, and his jewelry would’ve been minimal. Right before LFFM was when he started dying his hair blue and his style went through an abrupt change. The fashion in Hyrule by that point is slightly on the more modern end so he leans hard into more of the emo scene kid look but it’s like…a middle schooler’s interpretation of emo scene kid. He’s got the black crop tops figured out but he’s also cutting thumb holes into his striped socks to look edgy lol.

And then we get into his Rise to Fame and his look becomes more refined. He still wears mostly black but he plays more with color, especially once he’s on T and starts binding. Because he starts emerging as a bit of a musical icon, he very much makes his identify a fashion statement. Like…he will play concerts in a studded leather jacket and a decorated binder. Or he’ll dress in a very masculine silhouette, but the outfit itself is more of a dress/skirt/Gerudo silks. Color wise, everything is still very dark but there will be pops of pink and red in there. Jewelry wise, he has his ears pierced pretty much everywhere and he miiiight have an eyebrow piercing or a septum. Not too much on the face. Maybe some rings and bengals on his hands if he’s feeling fancy. Hairwise, he’s fried his hair off by this point so he had to cut it all off and regrow it and because he’s a jackass (affectionate) he styles it in a pompadour lmao.

And then…..A Lot Of Shit Happens to him and he comes out the other side salty as FUCK but also a DILF. And he’s not mad about it. But he does have a period after his oldest hits school age that he’s Surviving Not Thriving and he’s living in leggings and his husband’s sweatshirts….future husband’s…..

Faro gets divorced when his oldest hits school age and like they work it out and become friends again later but he has a Bad Time of it and is a depression goblin that his second husband falls in love with anyway. And then Faro gets together with his second husband, they raise their girls together, and then have more kids, and by that point Faro is more hiding in the second husband’s hoodies. But his family supports and loves him through it and when he comes out of THAT and bounces back from the post partum, he finds his style again and gets too surgery and really just leans towards what I can only describe as elegant. He loves reds and purples. He wears a lot of gold jewelry (including his wedding band). His hair is it’s natural red and curly again. Not as curly as when he was a kid, but it’s flowy and shoulder length. Leans into more golden hoops for earrings. Doesn’t really wear facial piercings anymore but his ears remain pierced all over. And he gets a tattoo sleeve with his second husband when they’re married. All black and very traditional Gerudo markings. (My personal hc is that Gerudo get tattoo sleeves in place of wedding bands, but there’s a Very Good Reason he didn’t do that with his first husband and his second husband grew up in Zora’s Domain so they swap traditions and do both sapphires/wedding bands and tattoos). If he dresses in suits or masculine attire, they tend to be all black because he never fully shakes his emo kid roots. But now at this point he is much more comfortable wearing more feminine silhouettes and outfits that have a lot more color. Including more traditional Gerudo attire.

Oh! And I completely forgot about makeup because that’s a journey too lol. Blue-haired Faro wears nothing BUT makeup. Like 2016 Youtuber makeup. Pompadour Faro pretends he doesn’t wear makeup but he at least puts on a full face of foundation, highlighter, and contour because he has no confidence without the illusion of “appearing” flawless. Depression Faro stopped giving a fuck decades ago. Happily married with 5 Kids Faro doesn’t leave the house without AT LEAST tinted moisturizer and a gloss but he also doesn’t go overboard (and he tiredly sighs whenever one of his daughters hits the Green Lipstick phase).

I hope that answers your question/is what you were looking for!! I apologize for having so many Faro Phases. He’s probably one of my favorite characters that I’ve ever written and has so many distinct journeys and character arcs…and he’s probably one of the only ones who drastically changes in style and appearance to reflect those arcs so I’m rarely able to just pinpoint one look for him! If he has any consistency to his looks ever, it’s that he’s always trying to push the boundaries to his look and he loves black. And gothic. He’s probably too chicken to go fully gothic with his makeup and overall vibe, but he wants to in his heart.
