There's something that's been bothering me abt the English dub of s2-e4.

That one scene where everyone begs Zero to play with them and he only actually joins when Semo (politely, I think? It sounded polite) pleads with him? The English dub changed it to Semo challenging Zero by saying something along the lines of “Are you scared to lose?”

Like??? The English dub is really out to make sure all of the small, soft interactions are lost...

What do you think?

only the korean dub, because the english makes me cringe so hard it feels like my skeleton's trying to crawl out of my skin! plus, korean's my first language, so it's easier for me to appreciate the show fully when i watch the og dub.

"are you scared to lose" is terrible. in the korean dub, semo is actually saying "please, Zero" firmly. his tone's pretty authoritative, but it's also kinda pleading in a sweet way. not unlike a parent to their child.

the english dub is just emotionally constipated at this point

when Semo and Hana moved out, they moved into the apartments next to each other without knowing. they realized they were neighbors when Hana got up early in the morning to water his plants, and Semo was playing guitar on the balcony next door.

Semo doesn't take good care of his prosthetics, so Hana regularly does maintenance on Semo's left leg and left hand. Semo always looks away when Hana's poking around, because it feels weirdly intimate to show this side of him to someone else.

Hana's terrified of spiders. Semo captures them all and releases them outside, to Hana's chagrin. ("what if they come back inside and try to eat me???" "Hana. they're spiders.")

Hana's love language is infodumping.

Semo's love language is acts of service.

Hana constantly has to repair things that Semo has broken by complete accident--including Semo himself.

Semo is absolutely Daddy's good boi, there is not a dominating bone in his body when he's with Limo. He may be a little whiny sometimes if he feels especially comfortable/sure of himself that day (which is very rare, because abandonment issues), but he'd never seriously demand something from his dad. Bro is downright worshipful at times

They're both very clingy, which results in them being joined at the hip. Zero's maintenance? Semo is sitting closeby and observing. It's a miracle Limo was able to keep Z a secret at all. School day? You bet Semo's rich but slightly creepy dad is either wandering close by or has already hacked into the class' camera feed. Maybe both. Investors meeting? Director Kwon is sitting there with a child on his lap and no one says anything because this man's one invention is worth more than their whole net. Also the child just bent a stapler with one hand so they're a little scared of them both.

This is somewhat shown/implied in canon (particularly in the movie) so i just wanna point it out. Limo's behavior didn't change that much - he's mostly only Like That when he's next to Semo or someone he knows Semo cares about.

Director Kwon is almost always late in the mornings, because he and Semo sleep in the same bed and Semo grabs at Limo with his prosthetic every time he tries to leave the bed early. They don't get up until it's time for Semo to get up for school, which starts a few hours later.
