The Lens of Diversity through which we see the world, truth is in the eye of the beholder.... https://www.gofundme.com/birth-of-theresas-legacy We are an ever increasing diverse nation but we can live peacefully if we understand that we all have a place here. Do not get me wrong, I am not talking about embracing what your heart tells you you cannot, I am talking about tolerance. Realizing that through dialogue and respect, we can work out our differences, more importantly we can keep track of what’s important, each other. I share this because instilled in me was a belief of kindness towards others was a must. You could be poor yet rich in spirit and I must say I was happy. Now with so much technology the human heart becomes number and number and sits idle as cruelties happen. Yet to the cruelty of some there will always be the beauty of the human spirit. I am often reminded of a story my mom would tell me in shaping my beliefs and values. She would tell me: There once was a man who’s richness had no measurement but his cruelty was unmatched. One day he saw a homeless person in the town and wanting to be funny gave him a basket full or garbage, saying sarcastically look what I’ve got for you! The poor man looked at the basket and it’s contents and hurried away. He picked the most beautiful wild flowers that he could and washed the basket with care. With enthusiasm, he rushed back to the rich man and handed him the basket and told him it was a gift. Perplexed by what he saw, he asked, “why would you give me flowers when I gave you garbage?” The humble man simply looked at the rich man and smiled and said, “because each person gives what is in their hearts.” I cannot change the world but perhaps I can remind it of a little kindness. This initiative to help our communities regardless of race or gender is from equality. Our children are forgetting many times to dream and sometimes, deeply unprepared for what is coming ahead, yet the talent and potential is there, we need to invest time! #tiftprweallresist #kindnessmatters #humanity #striveforgreatness #senseofcommunity #tolerance #makeadifference #selfsevelopment #equalityforall #instapic #latino (at United States)
