Transphobia against trans men in the UK's current section 35 crisis
This is from the UK government
To be very fair, in this instance the brunt of the transphobia has been based in transmisogyny thus far. However, I'd like to highlight the UK government saying that it used trans women as a shorthand for trans, but that it fully expects trans men to cause problems too and that everything they have said about trans women is something they believe applies to trans men too.
It really is a perfect metaphor for invisibility and hypervisibility dynamics with trans people.
Write to your MP. Talk to your friends and family. Take no shit.
section 35 will be remembered with section 28 by generations of lgbtq+ people to come
