This scene broke me when I first played.
takumi constantly looking bac/trying to recapture the past is one of those things that like. totally normal and understandable for most of the game. hits really different after second scenario. becuase like.
not to condemn him as a person - it's not his fault, it's sirei's. but it is impossible not to notice that well. desire to reject modernity and return to a false, idealized past where nothing ever changes is at best reactionary thought and at worst fascist. and i wouldn't get on his case about this were he not brainwashed to think that way so he'd carry out an inherently fascist mission.
like the desire to go back is sorta inherently doomed. it's not lost on me that a lot of the happier endings require giving up on his old life. like imo the happiest ending is hope from despair, and part of that IS that the gang do embrace that they have changed and find something new together, rather than trying to go back to that impossible past. takumi's never going to find happiness as long as he keeps trying to get the past back.
My only real criticism with Tsubasa is that any potential character arc she may have had doesn’t really pick up until she meets Shion in either Second Scenario or Coming Of Age. Or even the V’ehxness route.
