... and so they meet, in another time.
Anakin & PadmƩ
PADME: Well. I do believe you owe me a hundred credits.Ā ANAKIN: Is that so?Ā PADME: Of course. I did say we were having a son. Ā ANAKIN: If thatās the case, then it would seem you owe me ā what was it? 246 credits? I said we were having a daughter.Ā PADME: Iām still convinced you cheated. You mustāve sensed them.Ā ANAKIN: You were the one who wanted to keep it a surprise.Ā PADME: Perhaps we should just forfeit the credits. It's cruel to gamble on our children. ANAKIN: Said like a true politician avoiding her debt.Ā PADME: I still canāt believe theyāre real.Ā ANAKIN: Theyāre perfect... Like you. Ā PADME: Tell me something⦠What do you make of our new son and daughter-in-law? Ā ANAKIN: Han and Mara? Nah ah. I think I forfeited an opinion on that a long time ago. Ā PADME: Come on, weāre alone⦠Besides, I can tell youāve been bursting at the seams to say something. I must commend you for your restraint. ANAKIN: What is there to say? Luke married a defected Emperorās Hand, and Leia married a smuggler. PADME: And I married you. We canāt be seen as too hypocritical.
So, as an intellectual exercise I thought I'd try my hand at scripting a Silmarillion animated series, just to see how it could work. Three pages in and I'm about to bash my head on the wall--how am I supposed to introduce this many characters?! Anyway, this is what I got so far:
THE SILMARILLION ANIMATED SERIES

An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
Fandom: The Bad Batch Rating: Teen and Up Audiences Word Count: 1294 Summary: Crosshair has been activated, turned into an operative of Hemlock, and he has tried to kill Omega. This is what happens next. WARNINGS: Graphic Depictions of Violence, Major Character Death

BRITTANY: Look, Alvin, donāt take this the wrong way, but itās probably best if you donāt come to the party.
ALVIN 2.0: Let me guess. None of āmy kindā is welcome there? Aka āNo Nerds Allowed?ā
BRITTANY: No, but I donāt think youāll enjoy it.
ALVIN 2.0: What makes you say that?
BRITTANY: The last party I invited you to.
ALVIN 2.0: What does that have to do with anything?
BRITTANY: You were so tired from rushing to finish your homeworkā¦that you sort ofā¦.fell asleep on the table.
ALVIN 2.0: I donāt remember that.
BRITTANY: Of course you donāt.
ALVIN 2.0: Can I come if I promise not to fall asleep?
BRITTANY: Youāre not gonna last more than fifteen minutes. (Sighs)
ALVIN 2.0: I will prove you wrong!
(Later, at the party.)
BRITTANY: Whooo! Itās almost midnight! This is so much fun! Isnāt it, Alvin? Alvin?ā¦.ALVINNN!?
ALVIN 2.0: (snoring loudly while his headās down on the table)
BRITTANY: (grumbling) I knew it. At least he lasted more than fifteen minutes.
AoNoSummer2023 Day 9 - Shopping š±
Another script piece, a future AU šš Rizmo piece ft. their kid. Izumo has fallen ill due to a fever so Rin looks after her and their son, and takes care of the chores including shopping while dealing with their hyperactive son.
(Set in a canon-divergent AU in the future where Rin and Izumo are married and parents, in their late 20s-early 30s)
Missing Scene ā Aziraphale & Crowleyās Conversation
This is what happens when I give myself permission to write angst.
Aziraphaleās Bookshop - Evening
[The camera enters from the front entrance of the bookshop, the sign is flipped to CLOSED. We pause and zoom in as we reach Crowley, sitting at Aziraphaleās desk, drinking. His glasses are off and his hair is messy.]
C: Aziraphale?
A: Yes, Dear? [His voice is muffled. We hear books being shelved and a few steps taken forward, but the camera remains focused on Crowley.]
C: Do you knowāthe only reason [Stilted words, think āDOLPHINSā.] why I would have agreed to be an angel (again)?
A: [The floorboards creak loudly, and Aziraphale sighs.] ā¦Weāve talked about this Crowley, Iāve apologizedā
C: [He cuts him off, his voice has an obviously forced āplayfulā undertone to it.] No, no. Iām not asking you to apologize again, angel. I just, wanted to tell you this.
[A few seconds of silence.]
A: Well, alright then. Go onā¦
C: Iāve thought about it a lot⦠since wellāeverything. [Crowley takes a deep breath in, a clear attempt to solidify his resolve.] When we first met, I could feel you⦠I could feel your love⦠for me. I doubted, and I worried, and I asked too many questions of Her, but there was never a moment in which I had to question you. [Another deep breath.] When I fell, I lost that. I lost the ability to know that you loved me⦠and I was too much of a coward to ask, so instead, I waited⦠and I hoped that one day⦠maybe, I would be good enough. [Crowleyās body sags inwards.] I missāI donāt want to be an angel, I donāt think I could ever willingly choose to live through that pain again. But if I had to, I know that feelingāthat you⦠[His voice trails off.]
[More shuffling can be heard, itās closer than before.]
A: ā¦Oh, my dear boy, thank you for telling me. Itās a good thing you always have me here to remind you of my feelings, hmm?
[ā¦Another silent pause, although this time it stretches uncomfortably long. Something is clearly NOT right.]
C: Of course, angelā¦. [Crowleyās voice falls to a whisper.] Iā[He says something we canāt quite hear.]
[The camera pans out to reveal Muriel behind a nearby bookshelf, holding a first edition of Jane Austenās, Persuasion, against their heart, looking heartbroken and unsure of what to do.]
[We cut back to Crowley, who downs the rest of his drink, and puts his glasses back on. Weāre able to see the tears in his eyes before he can hide them from view.]
