Character Building
Creating a dynamic character is the crux of establishing your story. The mark of a good narrative is a character which sticks with the readers even after the story has ended. Readers establish an emotional connection with a well drafted character which further makes the story gripping and memorable.
There are three main types of characters;
Protagonist(s): Main character of the story, changes throughout the character arc and makes key decisions which in turn affects them.
Antagonist(s): represents the opposition of the protagonist and the hurdles the protagonist has to overcome to become a hero. Can be in the form of characters, an institution or internal struggle.
Flat/Static character(s): background characters which support the development of the protagonist. They have one or two striking qualities but their character is not thoroughly developed.
1. Make your protagonist realistic
-Avoid clichés (allow your readers to imagine qualities which are not already stereotyped/predetermined)
-Give your character traits your readers can identify with (important to know your target audience)
