Warning: This isn't much of a theory and it's mostly composed of headcanons and speculations because there isn't much we know about Scribbles' origins or anything on the ancient rabbids like him and their society besides a picture he drew of his earth in his introduction episode "Jurassic rabbid" we have no information on their society as far I know, so take everything with half a shaker of salt because like I said before these are mostly headcanons and some small speculations, so be warned. (Also be warned for long rambling.)

Origins: As we know that in the rabbid lore that according to the Gameboy advance version of "Rayman Raving Rabbids" that they originated from the glade of dreams and were once peaceful creatures until they quickly evolved to become more psychotic and violent when the whole entire glade started to harass, exploit and take advantage of their once peacefulness and kindness to torture them but in Rabbids Invasion we're introduced to Scribbles who came from a world where intelligent rabbids who were once the dominant species of Prehistoric Earth and as we know that kinda recons the rabbids origin from the original Rayman games but what if I told you that maybe it could be some outside force involved. Like I seen headcanons and theories people made about the ancient rabbids like Lapinibertnaus/Scribbles that are usually that some smart rabbids time traveled to prehistoric earth to conquer it and create a society of intellectuals since the modern earth was already populated by humans, some people say that Scribbles was either one of the founders or main creator of ancient rabbid society on Prehistoric Earth and as much as those theories are enjoyable, I kinda like to believe that maybe (this could be wrong, since I'm not as into Rayman lore and more into rabbids lore) some race native to the glade or probably maybe some alien species outside the glade of dreams saw the rabbids and was like "What if we grab a good handful of these rabbids and send them on another planet in a different time period and see how they manage" and took them and time traveled to prehistoric earth and put the rabbids there to watch how they manage in a new environment. Since the ancient rabbids were on a new planet where no one would purposely torture them, they started to evolve to be more calmer and more brave, of course they still had to deal with predators trying to kill them on a daily basis but it wasn't as bad as how their glade born cousins were treated so they never developed that same level of psychoticness, paranoia and aggressiveness as them and instead they were more observant of their surroundings and started to gain intelligence due to the fact that the ancient rabbids didn't really have nobody stopping them from doing things or fully taking advantage of them since most of the animals didn't really have the same intelligence as humans or other creatures from the glade of dreams, so they started to evolve and create tribes and then eventually advanced civilization with unique cultures, languages and religions. Now you're probably wondering how Scribbles knew about his kind eventually devolving into the rabbids we know? Well the rabbids we know aren't the rabbids that Scribbles showed us because I believe that in Scribbles time a couple centuries after his own ancestors arrived on Earth, that strangely more and more ancient rabbids have started to be born with less IQ as a normal ancient rabbid should have and scientists like Scribbles were trying to figure out the stupidity epidemic and as more and more generations of rabbids get more stupid, they started to believe that due to the rapid changes in the climate and harshness of the earth that it's causing the rabbids to get more stressed out causing certain genes and traits to get blocked out for other traits in embryo development causing them to be born with less intelligence and after Scribbles gets trapped and preserved in ice, many years go by and eventually at the peak of the first ice age basically every single smart ancient rabbid died off due to being outcompeted by the dumber ones in resources but also eventually even the dumber ones died because they weren't as smart as the ancient rabbids and were dumber then glade born rabbids aka the rabbids we see in the franchise, so when Scribbles was released from the ice he believes that the rabbids on modern Earth were his descendents but in actuality they're actually glade born rabbids that originally came to invade earth and the ancient rabbids from a long time ago were already extinct with no sign of them anymore.

Appearance: I know we already saw what they look like with Scribbles but if I were to redesign him and his species I would probably based them on the Nuralagus which is a prehistoric ancestor of rabbits (the animal that rabbids are obviously based off) which looks like this:

They would have similar features to the Nuralagus like a darker fur colors and patterns, Smaller ears, more rounded bodies (If you look closely at Scribbles canon design you can see he has a more rounder and chubbier body than a glade born Rabbid, so yeah Nuralagus could be a good candidate) and smaller heads but I'll keep some of their traits from canon like the ability to grow long hair and them being smaller then regular rabbids even though Nuralagus was a lot bigger than most of today's rabbit species and we're not sure if they even grew long hair. (I honestly can't decide to keep him smaller or bigger than the rabbids.) I also imagine instead of their eyes becoming red like their glade cousins when they're angry, scared and provoked, they would have this mechanism in their pupils which causes them to involuntarily get huge and big whenever they're frightened or provoked and it's designed to disturb or unsettle predators playing into the uncanny aspect of this method to scare off predators and usually when they're scared or frightened they would end up being involuntarily frozen in place and staying still, their body hoping the eyes will scare off the threat but if it's still there, they could manage to break from their trance and run or on very rare occasions fight back or bite them.

3. Beauty standards: As speaking of appearances and bodies, when there's a civilization of intelligent creatures, well, oh boy there's gonna be some standards on it comes to things like beauty. I don't really have much for this section but I believe that in Ancient rabbid culture having some chubbiness on your body is considered beautiful and healthy of course they didn't want obese rabbids or rabbids who don't take care of their bodies but if you have some chub it's considered pretty but I think their society would probably value the brain a lot more than looks. Like the more IQ you have the most beauty you'll get but yet again I'm only speculating from the only ancient rabbid in the show which is Scribbles who is intelligent and kinda has a chubby build, so yeah it might've been more similar to human society's standards but yet again who knows.

4. Society and Civilization: Now for my last section of this post, because I'm running out of ideas to put in here is, Ancient Rabbid Civilization, now as I said early, the only known image we see of Scribbles' time was a drawing he made of his planet on a whiteboard and on the planet we see things covering it that looks like some tech, so we know they were a very technological advanced civilization and seeing how Scribbles acts in the show, they probably valued things like intelligence, literature, music, the fine arts, media and plays, shows and movies. In the season 3 episode 10, "Rabbidzzzzzz" we seen Scribbles having a dream where he's in the forest playing the role of a mixture of the pied piper and a Disney princess summoning and controlling animals, so they may have valued nature but yet again this only from one ancient rabbid and this is a dream so nature might have not been the complete main focus of their society. Also, they could have some religions, but there's not really any sign of Scribbles being religious, so I'm not entirely sure on that headcanon/speculation.

Anyways that was my own take of ancient rabbids, I'm sorry if it was too long, I tend to ramble and write a lot on something I'm passionate about, so if I made it too long I apologize but anyways I hope you enjoyed my take on them and I'm happy to hear on what you think and what your opinions are on the subject too, constructive criticism is also appreciated because it could help me out with writing more concepts in the future.
