Well, I can say this.
I DID NOT expect them to end up shipped together.
I'm glad that the death battle community was confused and disgsted by all the hate towards Ruby and RWBY.
It was nice to see ScrewAttack providing some fan animation art of Ruby being revived and becoming BFFs with Maka.
It got some new people interested in RWBY
Now all that's left is Cinder Fall vs Azula

YouTube web show where characters from fiction are matched up like Death Battle, but instead of debating which character would win in a fight or whatever, it’s two or more people debating which characters from completely separate works of fiction would or wouldn’t make a good ship, romantically or otherwise. One side makes a case for them as a couple, the other tries to disprove this ship and/or make a case for one character in the ship sharing better chemistry with another character. Both sides have people who are experts on both chracters and thier lore (and/or a few who aren’t familiar with one or either characters for the sake of comedy).
At the end of the vid it shows a cute piece of fanart or an animation of the characters interacting like going on a date or their first meeting or something.
