The Writer’s Dilemma - Screenplay
After years of making short films and making the rounds at festivals, I had finally gotten a green-light for a low-budget film I wrote entitled, “The Writer’s Dilemma”. It’s a fantastical tale of a new writer getting his first book published. The whole story was inspired by Jack King’s “Ditch the Agent”, a book that detailed the hell that writers go through to get their books published.
Once I got the ‘go-ahead’, I secured a crew and was half-way through casting when the production company, DeLaurnetiis Productions, called me up and told me the bad news. The company was being sued by a former employee on another production. All filming was put on permanent hiatus until everything was sorted out. With a heavy heart, I called everyone involved and broke the news. Another film would be lost in “production hell” and never see the light of day.
Sadly, all that is left is the script and the storyboards which I’ll probably just turn into a comic book one day. Until then, here’s the first few pages from the script.
