A ninja is sent to get rid of a scientist. In which Nightbird time travels and sets out to kill Starscream, who is still in his science days, to hopefully change the present.

Starscream brings Nightbird flying. It unlocks something in her.

Nightbird agrees to watch Starscream’s back until shes repaid her debt. Thus starts a slow spiral of Starscream’s paranoia as, over the years, he wonders when exactly that debt will be repaid- and what Nightbird will do once she no longer feels any loyalty towards him.

Starscream manages to convince Nightbird to be a test subject for him, although not in those words. This is then interrupted by a damn meteor.
