#shade but I have noticed that a lot of the people who ship Nightbird and Megatron always say "Megatron called her hot" as the reason as to why they ship them. No wanting to explore the dynamic they could have, or how Nightbird's want for autonomy would clash with that. No, just Megatron objectifying her.
And I use the word "objectify", because if you see the episode you will notice that the transformers are always comparing her to objects; they don't view her as one of their own, but as an experimental machine they either have to protect or can use for their own wants.
It really bothers me that people think of her as "Megatron's wife" just because HE showed interest in her. And, to Megatron's credit, his interest doesn't lay in the fact that he finds her attractive, but in that he finds her to be skillful warrior, capable of fulfulling his plans. Like hell, even the "hot" comment is in response of Starscream being jealous (lol)
But yeah, I think it's really telling that Nightbird's wants never seem to come up when talking about this pairing, almost like they expect her to just "accept" Megatron by default, as if she couldn't possible have other things going on.

It'd be interesting if there was some way to connect her and Nightbird, and Starscream being so jealous he creates his and Megatrons love child to kill him with is something I’ve been thinking of haha
