Here is my newest finished sewing/weaving/patching projekt.
This cloth had a quite big hole, so instead of just sewing it together I weaved some extra textil into it. This patching method gave the cloth some character, color and of course texture to it.
I used four cotton yarns, one turquoise and dark cyan blue, a pastel pink and brown.
I had a lot of fun making it, and I'm glad I don't have to throw out a nice fabric while practicing my hobby.

Lately I have been working on my sewing and weaving skill, and here is my newest finished project.
I used weaving technic to visibly mend and to patch the big hole on this cloth.
Actually the mending has a really nice texture, so this ad so much uniqueness to this simple textile, that it is became quite decorative too.
As you can see it was really damaged, and even when this cloth was new, it was really loosely woven. Because of this, I used thick yarn, and always stabilised the patches a little bit over the edge of the hole, just to make sure it will stay in it's place.
