In continuation of the @talisker theme, before we move onto the next Scotch brand, here are some pictures from my visit to Talisker Distillery on the stunning Isle of Skye. I drove down from sunny Speyside to hit some pretty dreary weather on Skye. There's something charming about going to a distillery in this weather on a scottish island though. This is one of those rare occasions that I actually have a picture of myself in front of a distillery as well! Here are some pictures from the tour and don't miss the picture of the kiln model. It clearly shows how the peat smoke goes from the furnace, to the kilning floor and out of the pagoda roof. I finished the tour with a small dram of Talisker Port Ruighe before setting off to where I was staying, Portree, the town that this expression is named after. I tucked into some delicious peat smoked salmon which seems to have made me forgot to take pictures of the other whiskies I had that evening! Talisker has long been the only distillery on the Isle of Skye, but @torabhaig_distillery is aging new make and should soon be the second distillery on the island with whisky for sale!
